This Utrecht-based role is for a strong MSc graduate who wants to work on projects related to the energy and climate transition for mostly public clients.

We Are Looking For Candidates Who

  • Have a strong affinity with energy and sustainability topics, emphasizing areas such as policies, decarbonization of industry and transport, new energy solutions and land-use related topics.
  • Bring skills and interests that complement Guidehouse’s broad strengths, for example related to agentic AI, data automation or across sector collaboration.
  • Demonstrate a consulting mindset: Commercially oriented, agile, and able to understand sector dynamics.
  • Possess strong soft skills, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Are proactive, independent, and passionate about consulting.

What You Will Do

You will work with (mostly) public sector clients on strategic, analytical and technology questions essential for a successful and accelerated energy transition: market and policy analysis, data-driven insights, client interviews, workshops, and digital or technology-enabled transformation.

You execute high quality work and are supported and supervised by your team to be most effective and develop. You organize your own tasks and schedules, working on multiple projects simultaneously. You work in a team on complex problems and deliver high quality, client-ready work. Project teams are interdisciplinary and often international, combining expertise in energy systems, markets, infrastructure, technology and management consulting.

  • A critical thinker with attention to detail and creativity in problem-solving.
  • Able to balance multiple priorities and communicate clearly to stakeholders.
  • Comfortable communicating and open to coaching.
  • Able to work efficiently and effectively (both virtually and in-person) in an independent, proactive manner.
  • Able to show a working knowledge of data collection, organisational and analytical skills
  • Experienced with Microsoft Office applications, and comfortable using artificial intelligence tools to improve efficiency and project delivery.
  • Willing to occasionally travel and work internationally

Other Requirements

  • MSc degree, preferably in energy science, business, engineering, economics or similar fields
  • Affinity with working on renewable energy and sustainability policies and for governments
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills in Dutch and English. Other languages are a plus
  • No restrictions around performing work in the Netherlands
  • Nice to have are proven extracurricular activities and/or international experience, preferably with relevant internship or some related work experience
