Senior Consultant
What You Will Do
- Coordinate projects on behalf of clients with associated factories in South-east Asia (key priority India and Bangladesh), focusing on energy efficiency, renewable energy, electrification, and similar decarbonization opportunities.
- Engage with suppliers’ technical and leadership teams to receive proposal signoffs and maintain a strong pulse on the sentiment at the industrial facility, designing engagement ideas to achieve project outcomes.
- Coordinate with OEMs and technology vendors to establish feasibility of industrial decarbonization projects.
- Report to client local and international representatives regarding status of projects, project risks, and mitigation measures.
- Manage collaboration with subcontractors to deliver on-site work in textile and apparel factories.
- Prepare PowerPoint, Word, and Excel-based materials for executive decision-making related to decarbonization strategies.
- Present findings and recommendations to clients in a clear and compelling manner.
- Manage coordination with banking and financing partners to enable supplier teams to receive funding for project implementation.
- Provide oversight to factories during the implementation phase, ensuring project completion in schedule, quality, and with desired outcomes.
- Prepare project documentation that credibly accounts for the emission reductions and improvements.
- Identify emission reduction opportunities across textile, apparel, footwear, food and beverage, pharmaceutical, and chemicals supply chains.
- Apply energy management or energy auditing background and experience visiting factories and identifying efficiency projects.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams across regions in India, Europe, North America, and the Middle East to ensure seamless project delivery.
- Coordinate work of up to 5 consultants conducting research and data analysis activities.
- Conduct quality assurance on deliverables prepared by team of technical experts.
- Manage discrete workstreams within complex projects, progressing toward full project management responsibilities.
- Expand network with machinery manufacturers and vendors in India, Bangladesh, or other Southeast Asia countries such as Vietnam, Indonesia.
- Learn lessons from supplier engagement and project development to gather and implement program improvement ideas.
What You Will Need
- Minimum 5 years of experience in industrial decarbonization, energy management, or consulting, ideally within the textile, footwear, or apparel sector.
- Master’s degree in engineering, environmental science, physics, economics, or mathematics. Specific training in climate change and sustainability-related topics is a bonus.
- Energy management or energy auditing background and experience visiting factories and identifying efficiency projects. Basic knowledge of how industrial facilities are designed and set up.
- Familiarity with the structure of global textile supply chains, including clusters, material flows, and key stakeholders (e.g., suppliers, brands, solution providers).
- Ability to quantify and analyze water, energy, and chemical usage in textile processes and propose reduction strategies through optimization or advanced technologies.
- Experience coordinating with subcontractors and external partners, particularly in Southeast Asia (e.g., Vietnam, Bangladesh, Indonesia).
- Experienced and skilled with PowerPoint and Excel and other MS Office Tools; Excel proficiency is a must.
- Strong interpersonal, teamwork, and communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage and interpret large datasets.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, capable of engaging both factory-level and executive stakeholders.
- Proven ability to translate technical findings into actionable business insights.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively across diverse teams and geographies.
- Fluency in English is required.
What Would Be Nice To Have
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
- Strong network with machinery manufacturers and vendors in Southeast Asia. Established connections with textile brands, factories, or machinery vendors are an asset.
- Experience with fiber-to-fabric processes such as spinning, knitting, weaving; and/or wet processing (e.g., dyeing, printing, finishing); and/or fabric manufacturing (cutting, sewing).
- Knowledge of textile materials and fibers, including both traditional (e.g., cotton, polyester) and sustainable alternatives.
- Proficiency in Southeast Asian languages.
- Specific training in climate change and sustainability-related topics.
- Proven extracurricular activities and/or international experience aligned with the position.
