You should be willing to work some weekends, bank holidays and evenings, and be on call.

This is a fixed term contract due to end when the postholder returns to the role. At this point we cannot confirm exactly how long this contract will last, but it is unlikely to be more than 12 months.

What It's Like To Work Here

The portfolio cares for over 6000 acres of land, including 5 moorland, 18 coastal and one urban mansion property. It creates a mosaic of habitats including coastal, woodlands, moorland and grasslands. These properties are connected through a number of National Trails which include the King Charles the third path, Cleveland Way and the Coast to Coast path. The portfolio also contains 8 farms, along with many more tenants involved in managing the portfolio. Sitting in the North York Moors National Park, some of the properties have upwards of 250,000 visitors per year.

Projects include the introduction of ponds and wetland areas along the coast, tree planting and hedgerow introduction at a number of sites, Water improvement works along our streams and becks and working with our tenants to create hay meadows and a more diverse richness of species in our grasslands, both on the moors and on the coast.

Bottom House Farm has been taken back in hand with a vision to change farming practices and allow natural processes and climate change to help dictate some of the habitat. Ormesby Hall sits in the urban greenery of Middlesbough. As a gateway to the Moors, the property offers huge opportunities in habitat creation including woodland planting, wetland creation and hay meadow management as well as being the focus on our strategic goal of ending unequal access.
