GT Solar Maintenance, a leader in vegetation management for solar energy fields, is hiring String Trimmer Technicians to support our regional mowing crews. This role is perfect for individuals who enjoy hands-on outdoor work and are looking to grow with a supportive, safety-focused company. Our operations span across Texas, Colorado, New Mexico, and Arizona, with the majority of work based in Texas and a dedicated team in Colorado.

Responsibilities:
- Operate gas-powered or battery-powered string trimmers (weed eaters) to maintain vegetation around solar panels, posts, inverters, fencing, and other structures.
- Perform clean, efficient trimming with special attention to safety and equipment care.
- Follow all safety protocols and wear provided PPE at all times.
- Conduct basic maintenance checks on trimmers (string replacement, air filter cleaning, etc.).
- Support general site cleanup, mowing teams, and other landscape tasks as needed.
Qualifications:
- Experience with string trimmers or landscaping tools preferred, but not required — we’ll train you.
- Physically capable of working outdoors in hot, dusty, and sometimes wet conditions.
- Able to lift 40+ pounds and work on foot for extended periods.
- Reliable, adaptable, and willing to follow instructions and safety procedures.
- Must have dependable transportation to the designated job site each morning.
Compensation and Benefits:
- Daily Pay: $10–$15/hour, depending on experience.
- Per Diem: $68/day for meals and expenses during travel.
- Sign-On Bonus: $1,000 total ($500 after 2 months, $500 after 6 months).
- Performance Bonuses: For attendance, job completion, and quality of work.
- Referral Bonus: $500 for successful hires ($100 after 30 days, $400 after 90 days).
- Retirement and insurance benefits available after 6 months.
Schedule:
- Work 5–6 days per week, with occasional overnight trips (1–3 weeks).
- Travel schedules are communicated 2–4 weeks in advance.
- Typical workdays last 8–12 hours, depending on weather and site conditions.
Work Environment:
- Outdoor work across solar fields in Texas, Colorado, New Mexico, and Arizona.
- Exposure to heat, dust, wind, and rain.
- Employees must provide durable work pants, boots, and shirts.
- GT Solar supplies all PPE, including gloves, face masks, ear protection, and eye protection.
