Interconnection Manager in Renewable Energy Our client is a subsidiary of a multinational construction group, a global leader in sustainable infrastructure development, specializing in renewable energy projects (photovoltaic plants, wind farms, battery storage, transmission lines etc). Operating in markets including the United States, Australia, Brazil, and South Africa, and Europe, they drive high-impact projects that contribute to the global transition towards clean energy. The company focuses on both greenfield developments and strategic mergers and acquisitions, collaborating with landowners, suppliers, and local stakeholders to deliver sustainable solutions. As Interconnection Manager, you will play a critical role in driving the successful development and execution of utility-scale renewable energy projects across ERCOT, MISO, and SPP. Responsible for leading the interconnection process from early-stage greenfield development through Ready-to-Build (RTB) and ultimately to Commercial Operation Date (COD). Act as the central point of accountability for all interconnection activities, enabling timely approvals, regulatory compliance, and technical excellence, while supporting the broader mission of delivering reliable, large-scale solar, wind, and battery storage projects. Lead and manage all stages of the interconnection process for utility-scale renewable energy projects from greenfield to COD. • Prepare and submit interconnection requests and applications for ERCOT, MISO, and SPP. • Act as the primary liaison with ISO/RTOs and utilities, ensuring timely compliance with interconnection protocols and regulatory requirements. • Track, manage, and meet key interconnection milestones, economic security deposits, and contractual deliverables. • Navigate ISO/RTO portals to upload, monitor, and manage project applications and documentation. • Oversee third-party engineering consultants conducting feasibility, system impact, and facility studies. • Provide technical and procedural support to project managers throughout the development lifecycle. • Manage post-interconnection agreement activities including QSA execution, full market registration, energization planning, and COD coordination. • Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders in Houston and the international development team in Madrid, ensuring effective communication and alignment. Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Energy Systems, or a related technical discipline. • Around 5+ years of experience managing or directly supporting the interconnection process for utility-scale renewable energy projects. • Strong working knowledge of ERCOT, MISO, and SPP interconnection processes, protocols, and online platforms. • Familiarity with Interconnection Agreements, QSA, registration, and utility coordination through COD. • Strong project management and cross-functional coordination skills. • Annual Bonus: Performance-based target bonus up to 15–20% of base salary • Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance • Paid time off (vacation, holidays)
