As a Photovoltaic (PV) Plant Operator, you’ll monitor and maintain PV plant assets and coordinate field work orders. Weekend coverage is required, but we offer a flexible schedule with the option to work from home.

Photovoltaic (PV) Plant Operator Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and analyze performance data for utility-scale solar PV and battery energy storage (BESS) projects.
  • Validate data integrity and perform trend analysis to support reporting and performance insights.
  • Diagnose issues and distinguish between monitoring system errors and equipment failures.
  • Troubleshoot PV and BESS assets remotely to identify and resolve operational problems.
  • Dispatch and coordinate field technicians as needed for onsite maintenance or repairs.
  • Maintain detailed records of plant operations, performance trends, and equipment failures.
  • Operate equipment and resources in accordance with company guidelines and safety standards.
  • Follow all company policies and maintain quality, organization, and housekeeping standards.

Requirements (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities):

  • Experience with photovoltaic (PV) system monitoring and data analytics is highly desirable.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Excel, Word, and Access) is required.
  • Basic networking knowledge is also required.
  • Strong communication skills are essential for effective coordination with both office and field personnel.
  • Experience analyzing large data sets and interpreting performance trends.
  • Must be detail-oriented and capable of maintaining accurate, thorough records.
  • Strong time management and multitasking skills are required, as well as flexibility to work on weekends.
  • Familiarity with AVEVA Insight, AlsoEnergy, and Sunny Portal platforms is preferred.
  • Previous experience with SCADA monitoring systems is preferred, along with knowledge of SCADA platform maintenance and database mining.
  • Prior experience in the solar industry is a plus.
