GREENPEACE AUSTRALIA PACIFIC

At Greenpeace Australia Pacific (GPAP), we believe in a green and peaceful future – one where the Earth can nurture life in all its diversity. As part of a global environmental movement, we use creative confrontation and bold action to expose injustice and bring about the changes needed for a sustainable world. We’re independent, we don’t accept corporate or government funding, and everything we do is powered by people, just like you.

This is a full time, 1 year fixed term contract.
The preferred location is Sydney (flexible for the right candidate)

THE TEAM

You’ll join a close-knit, high-performing People & Culture (P&C) team of five. We're a collaborative, purpose-driven team who genuinely enjoy working together and building a positive, inclusive workplace culture.

We’re serious about supporting our people, but we also make time to celebrate wins, share a laugh, and back each other up. We take pride in working on projects that reflect our culture-first approach, from wellbeing initiatives to innovative learning programs. If you love being part of a supportive, values-aligned team that gets things done, you'll feel right at home.

THE ROLE

As our P&C Coordinator, you’ll play a key role in making GPAP a great place to work. You’ll provide essential support across the full employee lifecycle, from recruitment and onboarding to learning, performance, and P&C systems.

This is a dynamic, hands-on role that keeps the heart of our organisation beating. You’ll work closely with the Head of P&C and be a trusted go-to for staff and volunteers.

This isn’t your typical P&C Coordination job. It’s an opportunity to contribute to real impact, in an organisation that puts its people and purpose at the centre of everything we do.

What You’ll Do

  • Manage day-to-day P&C administration/coordination and maintain up-to-date records and systems.
  • Prepare people metrics and reporting for the leadership team.
  • Support the end-to-end recruitment process: from job ads and interviews to onboarding new team members.
  • Assist with organisational learning and development initiatives, helping our people grow and thrive.
  • Coordinate and support the performance management process.
  • Be a go-to contact for staff, providing advice and guidance in line with best practice and Greenpeace policies.
  • Support broader departmental operations and compliance efforts.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE

You are a proactive, detail oriented People & Culture professional who is passionate about fostering great workplace experiences. You thrive in a collaborative team environment, bring confidence to your communications, and are motivated to help people succeed.

You’ll also have:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources, Employment Law, or equivalent experience.
  • At least 2 years’ experience in a similar HR coordination, recruitment, or admin role.
  • Strong understanding of Australian employment law and Fair Work practices.
  • Organised and systems-savvy – experience with HRMS software (e.g. Elmo, Paycor, Culture Amp) is a bonus.
  • Excellent communication skills and a knack for building trust and relationships.
  • A proactive, solutions-focused mindset with a passion for supporting people.

We recognise that sometimes the right person for a job is based on personal qualities and not just qualifications. If you are not sure whether you are qualified, we would strongly encourage you to make an inquiry or go ahead and apply.

WHAT WE CAN OFFER YOU

  • A role with one of the most well-known brands in the environmental and NGO space, and the strength of the 50 years of Greenpeace behind you;
  • A great work-life balance including 35 hour work week, integrity framework and generous leave conditions (including an additional week of paid leave between Christmas and New Years);
  • Genuine flexible working conditions including remote work or hybrid working arrangements;
  • An incredible combined head office and warehouse space in Rosebery, Sydney. Plus, co-working spaces in Melbourne and Perth;
  • A workplace culture that values inclusivity, belonging and diversity; and
  • An annual health allowance

Annual full-time salary: $81,945.90 per annum + 12% superannuation.
