Greenpeace International (GPI) International Development Department (DEVO) is seeking a Senior Data Strategist to help us shape a vision of organizational development, identifying areas for learning and opportunities to be a powerful organization fit for the 21st century. This role will reinforce the interaction and collaboration with other GPI departments and different functions within NROs by analyzing data and finding best practices that improve our performance and increase accountability.
You will be expected to provide direct strategic advice to the International Executive Director, Global Leadership Team and NROs’ Executive Directors and to find opportunities to strengthen the fact-based, data-analysis driven approach to Greenpeace operation and decision making.
Proactively contributing ideas and suggestions for how to better align policies and objectives, how to define and monitor global KPIs, and how to analyse and interpret trends and performance against planning and reporting, you will also be expected to develop strategic initiatives exploring how the Insights community can work together and feed into an overall strategic framework.
In this role you will:
Drive improvements in strategic organizational areas and provide strategic consultancy and business advisory to Greenpeace leadership.
Develop a plan to continuously search and identify the best organizational practices and resilience organizational models and lead implementation of this plan.
Work with the (Senior) Development Managers and NROs to identify how these models and best practices could be adopted to improve our agility, impact and resilience.
Lead Strategic Organizational Projects and the development and implementation of data management and analysis. Propose innovative ways to performance monitoring, including metrics/KPIs, data systems and monitoring dashboards across Greenpeace.
Develop strong relationships with internal/external colleagues and collaborators – in particular NRO, Impact Measurement teams, Insights, Global HR, Global Finance and key partners who utilise data.

What we’re looking for:
Proven understanding and experience in Data Analyst or Business Advisory roles, with substantial experience of presenting insights at Strategic Director Level.
Preferably, a postgraduate qualification (e.g. Masters) in Computer Science, Economics and/or International Business or a related field with a significant research and modelling component – or equivalent to diploma and/or other courses/training relevant to the job.
Expert level understanding of data analytics, engagement data types and appropriate critical metrics.
High level of expertise in planning, accountability and performance evaluation, including deep understanding of modelling data and its integration.
Ability to organize and work with large sets of unstructured data.
Familiarity with databases (e.g. Salesforce) and designs.
Ability to translate data conclusions into practical recommendations and to communicate conclusions of complex data analysis to non-expert audiences.
Ideally, experience with common reporting tools and ability to create own reports (e.g. Tableau).
Proficiency in written and spoken English, with knowledge of other languages an advantage.
Good leadership, interpersonal, communication and organizational skills, in particular including good facilitation and negotiation.
Demonstrated support for Greenpeace mission and values.
