Overall purpose of the job:
The Community Outreach Campaigner works with project teams to identify, develop and implement strategic opportunities for community engagement activities to advance specific project objectives.
The position is also responsible for systems, processes, and activities that develop and maintain an active relationship with willing volunteers who wish to get involved in supporting Greenpeace's mission. It works with the Program team and the fundraising team to provide an integrated supporter journey for Greenpeace's financial and non-financial supporters and strengthen the role of people power in making change.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Conceptual tasks and Strategy development
- Collaborate with Greenpeace project teams to pinpoint ways for volunteers to contribute to campaign and organizational goals.
- Ensure seamless integration of volunteer opportunities within the broader supporter journey of the organization in collaboration with other teams.
Implementation
- Engage with communities identified by projects to foster their participation in specific campaigns.
- Recruit volunteers who align with Greenpeace's values and objectives.
- Establish volunteer engagement systems to effectively oversee their involvement in Greenpeace's activities.
- Sustain an active rapport with volunteers through regular communication and consistent opportunities for engagement.
- Experiment with innovative tactics that build support and amplify impact to inspire others.
- Monitor and Evaluate the performance of community engagement activities
Support/Coaching/Leadership
- Assist communities in acquiring pertinent knowledge or skills to facilitate their involvement in campaigns.
- Offer coaching or training to volunteers as needed.
- Ensure that Greenpeace staff understand the value of community engagement in attaining campaign and organizational objectives.
Compliance/ Keeping Framework Conditions
- Oversee the budget allocated for community outreach program management.
- Ensure compliance of the community outreach program with Greenpeace policies and applicable laws.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- At least 1 years of related experience is a must
- Fluency in written and spoken English, written Chinese and Cantonese
- Ability to manage multiple simultaneous projects and to meet deadlines, including a flexible mindset regarding working hours;
- Commitment to, and demonstrated ability to work well as part of a team;
- Commitment to the mission, principles, and values of Greenpeace
