Purpose of the Role
As we expand our reach and ambition, we are looking for a highly driven, value oriented professional to join us as a Fundraising Officer High Net Worth Individual & Ultra High Net Worth Individual (HNI & UHNI) .
This is not a traditional NGO role. It is a frontline revenue-generating position suited for someone with a strong background in sales, marketing, or business development, someone who understands how to build relationships, communicate value, and confidently close high-value contributions. You will play a critical role in mobilizing financial and strategic support by engaging high-net-worth individuals, private donors, and partners who are passionate about driving impact.The role requires full-time commitment with local and international travel as needed
In this role you will:
The role is responsible for developing and executing multi-level fundraising strategies targeting high-net-worth individuals and diverse donor segments, while managing the full fundraising lifecycle from prospecting to closing. It involves building and maintaining strong donor relationships, driving donor acquisition and retention, and leading engagement through events, digital platforms, and strategic outreach. The position also includes preparing proposals, reports, and communications, collaborating with programme teams, and representing the organisation externally to enhance fundraising impact and ensure a high-quality donor experience.
Whom we’re looking for:
We are seeking a candidate with 6–8 years of experience in international development, fundraising, or stakeholder-facing roles, with a strong track record in donor engagement and high-value relationship management. The ideal candidate demonstrates a solid understanding of environmental and social justice issues, excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, and the ability to influence senior leaders. They are self-driven, results-oriented, and analytically strong, with good knowledge of fundraising and resource management. Strong digital literacy and proficiency in English, Sinhala, and Tamil are essential, with additional regional language skills considered an advantage.
