This is an opportunity to use your skills, creativity, and commitment to help shape a future worth fighting for.

Our Campaigning Team is divided up into 3 core streams. These include Climate and Energy, Nature and Pacific. We are looking for someone to join our Nature team, to help deliver this key event.
THE ROLE
We’re seeking an experienced Event Coordinator to deliver a high-level diplomatic event at Parliament House in Canberra, celebrating the ratification of the Global Ocean Treaty. The event will bring together Ministers, MPs, diplomats, commissioners, and partner organisations to highlight Australia’s leadership in ocean protection and strengthen multilateral cooperation.
Reporting to the Senior Campaigner, you’ll be responsible for managing all logistics, communications, and stakeholder engagement to ensure a seamless and impactful event. This role offers a rare opportunity to contribute to a milestone campaign moment in global ocean conservation.
Key responsibilities include:
- Plan, coordinate, and deliver the Global Ocean Treaty Celebration event at Parliament House.
- Liaise with invitees, manage RSVPs, communications, and queries.
- Coordinate venue logistics, catering, AV, accessibility, security, and speaker arrangements.
- Develop event documentation including speaking briefs, run sheets, and post-event evaluation reports.
- Manage project budgets and approvals for all event-related expenditures.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with Ministers, MPs, diplomats, partner organisations, and donors.
- Represent Greenpeace professionally to external stakeholders and partners.
- Ensure compliance with Greenpeace policies and all relevant workplace laws.

You’ll ideally also have:
- Proven experience coordinating high-level or political events.
- Demonstrated success in project delivery, stakeholder management, and budget oversight.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust across sectors.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and presentation tools (e.g. Canva, PowerPoint).
- Ability to work independently, manage competing deadlines, and adapt to changing priorities.
We recognise that sometimes the right person for a job is based on personal qualities and not just qualifications. If you are not sure whether you are qualified, we would strongly encourage you to make an inquiry or go ahead and apply.
