Engagement Lead
Be bold. Be creative. Be part of the fight for a green and peaceful future.
At Greenpeace Australia Pacific (GPAP), we believe a better world is possible and we’re determined to make it real. We are an independent campaigning organisation, powered by people and creative action, taking on the biggest environmental and climate challenges of our time. Our priorities are:
- tackling climate change by stopping emissions from fossil fuel extraction at source; and
- protecting nature, including our oceans and forests, by stopping the largest sources of environmental destruction like industrial fishing and deforestation.
Whatever your role at GPAP, you’ll be part of something bigger: a passionate global movement that sparks action, holds decision‑makers to account, and drives lasting change for people and the planet. This is an opportunity to use your skills, creativity, and commitment to help shape a future worth fighting for.
ENGAGEMENT LEAD
Role: Full time, Fixed Term Contract until April 2027
Location: Flexible - Open to candidates Australia wide
Travel: Domestic travel within Australia - primarily during October and November 2026
Due to the urgency of the role, we are seeking a candidate who can start immediately. We will be reviewing applications as they come in and will commence interviews as suitable applicants come through.
THE TEAM
This role will report to the Digital Engagement Manager and be a part of a team of experts across digital engagement, creative partnerships, social media and digital campaigning with two Digital Campaigners reporting directly to this role.
We expose environmental crimes, hold companies and governments to account, promote climate solutions and inspire others to create positive change.
THE PROJECT
Get ready to step onto the frontlines of history. Joining this team means diving headfirst into some of our most ambitious climate action yet: with Greenpeace International's vessel, the legendary Rainbow Warrior coming to our shores, we are taking the opportunity to rally communities and push back against fossil fuel expansion.
You won't just be watching from the side lines, you’ll have the rare, hands-on opportunity to work on the boats, rolling up your sleeves and work on high-impact Non-Violent Direct Actions for our Stop Big Gas campaign. If you’ve ever wanted to turn your climate anxiety into tangible, unstoppable momentum on the water, this is your moment.
The stakes couldn't be higher, and the timing couldn't be more critical. As we gear up for the Pre-COP and COP31 projects, your work will help shape the global narrative, putting immense pressure on decision-makers when the world’s eyes are on us.
This is more than a job; it’s a chance to sail alongside relentless changemakers, master creative frontline tactics, and execute campaigns that actually move the needle. Ready to make some noise and leave a legacy?
Welcome aboard.
