The time has now come for a clear division between Sustainability and Executive Level work. As such, our CEO is creating the role of Chief Sustainability Officer (CSO) to take over the ESG work he has been leading.
Role Overview
The Chief Sustainability Officer will serve as Greenie Web's senior sustainability executive, responsible for shaping and executing the company's sustainability vision while helping clients achieve measurable environmental, social, and governance (ESG) outcomes through digital sustainability solutions.
The successful candidate will bridge sustainability, technology, climate action, digital transformation, AI, and business strategy to position Greenie Web as a global leader in Digital Sustainability and Green ICT.
Key Responsibilities
Sustainability Leadership
- Develop and execute Greenie Web's global sustainability strategy.
- Lead sustainability advisory engagements across public and private sector clients.
- Translate sustainability goals into measurable business outcomes.
- Advise organisations on integrating sustainability into digital transformation initiatives.
Digital Sustainability & Green ICT
- Champion sustainable software engineering, Green ICT, low-carbon computing, and responsible AI practices.
- Lead the development of Digital Sustainability frameworks, methodologies, and best practices.
- Support clients in reducing digital carbon footprints and improving digital efficiency.
- Identify emerging trends in sustainable technology and climate innovation.
ESG & Sustainability Consulting
- Advise clients on ESG strategy, reporting, and sustainability roadmaps.
- Support sustainability reporting aligned with international frameworks and standards.
- Develop sustainability impact measurement methodologies and KPIs.
- Assist organisations in achieving sustainability targets through technology-enabled solutions.
Partnerships Development
- Represent Greenie Web at conferences, forums, and industry events.
- Build partnerships with governments, universities, NGOs, industry associations, and sustainability organisations.
- Contribute to proposal development, thought leadership papers, and strategic initiatives.
Required Qualifications
Mandatory Requirements
Applicants must possess valid Certificates of Completion from both of the following programmes offered by NUS Institute of Systems Science (NUS-ISS):
- Digital Sustainability for Strategic Leaders
- Driving Digital Sustainability
Alternate qualifications in Digital Sustainability will only be accepted on a case-by-case basis. Applications that do not meet both certification requirements will not be considered.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Sustainability, Environmental Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science, Business, Public Policy, or a related field.
- 10 years of professional experience in sustainability, ESG, climate, digital transformation, technology consulting, or related fields preferred. Fewer years of experience can be considered if there is a solid track record.
- 5 years of leadership or senior management experience preferred
- Proven experience developing and implementing sustainability strategies.
- Strong understanding of ESG, climate change, sustainability reporting, and sustainable business practices.
- Experience working with senior executives, government agencies, and enterprise clients.
Additional Qualifications
The following qualifications are highly desirable:
- Master's degree in Sustainability, Climate Change, Environmental Management, Business Administration (MBA), Public Policy, or related disciplines.
- Professional certifications in sustainability or ESG.
- Experience in ClimateTech, Green ICT, AI, software engineering, digital transformation, or technology consulting.
- Familiarity with carbon accounting, climate disclosures, and sustainability frameworks.
