Company Description: Green Yatra is a leading environmental solutions NGO with a nature-centric approach, working across India to protect and conserve the environment and biodiversity. The organisation partners with businesses and institutions to help them achieve UN SDG 2030, ESG goals, and carbon neutrality through end-to-end customised programs, from carbon footprint assessment to mitigation and offset solutions. Key initiatives include large-scale tree plantation projects, mangrove restoration for blue carbon, and integrated agroforestry that supports rural livelihoods. Green Yatra also focuses on climate education for corporates, schools, colleges, and government bodies; cause-related marketing to strengthen sustainable brands; and green campus programs to engage youth as climate-conscious citizens. In addition, Project Jal restores and creates water bodies and promotes rainwater harvesting to support long-term ecological resilience.

Role Description: The Fundraising Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Mumbai, responsible for developing and executing fundraising strategies to support Green Yatra’s environmental programs. The role involves identifying and cultivating relationships with major donors, corporate partners, foundations, and other funding sources, as well as preparing proposals, grant applications, and impact reports. The Fundraising Manager will coordinate annual giving campaigns, events, and cause-related marketing initiatives in collaboration with program and communications teams. Day-to-day tasks include maintaining donor databases, tracking fundraising performance, ensuring timely stewardship and communication with supporters, and presenting Green Yatra’s mission and projects to prospective donors and stakeholders. The position also requires close collaboration with internal teams to align fundraising initiatives with program priorities and organisational goals.

Qualifications

  • Candidates should possess experience in engaging and managing relationships with major donors and high-net-worth individuals.
  • Candidates should possess strong communication skills, including written, verbal, and presentation abilities for diverse audiences.
  • Candidates should possess knowledge of philanthropy trends and best practices, especially within environmental and social impact sectors.
  • Candidates should possess experience working with charities and non-profit organisations, including familiarity with fundraising compliance and reporting.
  • Candidates should ideally have experience in corporate fundraising, ESG-aligned partnerships, and cause-related marketing.
  • Candidates should possess strong organisational and project management skills, with the ability to meet fundraising targets and deadlines.
  • A relevant bachelor’s degree (such as in Social Work, Environmental Studies, Business, Communications, or a related field) and prior fundraising experience in the NGO or impact sector are highly beneficial.
