About the role

We are seeking a Commercial Lead – Carbon Markets to commercialize and sell a portfolio of high-integrity carbon projects currently under development.

This is a hunter-style, performance-driven role focused on originating, negotiating, and closing carbon credit off-take and spot transactions with corporate buyers, traders, and intermediaries.


What You’ll Do

  • Lead the sale and commercialization of our carbon project portfolio under development
  • Originate and close carbon credit transactions (spot and forward off take)
  • Build and manage a strong regional buyer pipeline
  • Engage corporates, intermediaries, and traders on volume, pricing, and delivery timelines
  • Structure commercial terms aligned with project development and issuance schedules
  • Represent the company within the regional carbon and sustainability ecosystem
  • Capture buyer requirements and provide market feedback to the project team
  • Maintain a clear sales tracker and deal status updates

What We’re Looking For

  • Based in US, Europe, or Asia
  • 5+ years’ experience in:
  • Carbon markets, environmental commodities, ESG or climate sales
  • OR energy, sustainability, or commodity trading environments
  • Proven track record of originating and closing B2B or institutional deals
  • Existing buyer relationships strongly preferred
  • Comfortable selling forward contracts and pre-issuance credits
  • Independent, commercially driven, and outcome-focused

Compensation (Hunter Model)

  • Commission-led compensation
  • Competitive commission per tonne or % of transaction value
  • Higher upside for:
  • Large volumes
  • Repeat buyers
  • Long-term off-take agreements
  • Optional modest retainer for exceptional candidates (discretionary)
