Climate Research Volunteer
About the role
We are seeking a passionate and detail-oriented Climate Researcher (Volunteer) to support our climate education and advocacy initiatives. This role involves researching climate change, environmental sustainability, and energy topics to inform our programs, content, and policy work. You will help ensure our work is accurate, evidence-based, and impactful.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct research on climate change, environmental issues, renewable energy, and sustainability
- Summarize scientific reports, academic papers, and policy documents into clear insights
- Support the development of educational content, reports, and climate learning materials
- Provide data, statistics, and evidence to support campaigns, grant proposals, and public messaging
- Track climate trends, local environmental challenges, and emerging solutions (especially in Africa)
- Fact-check climate-related content to ensure accuracy and credibility
- Collaborate with content creators, educators, and advocacy teams to translate research into actionable materials
What you’ll bring
- Strong interest in climate change, environmental science, sustainability, or energy
- Good writing and communication skill
- Ability to analyze research reports and extract key insights
- Familiarity with data sources such as IPCC reports, World Bank data, or climate research platforms
- Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and collaborate remotely
- Passion for climate action, education, and social impact
