We're partnered with a fast-growing EPC contractor seeking an experienced Preconstruction Manager to support utility-scale renewable energy projects, with a strong emphasis on battery energy storage systems. This role sits at the forefront of project development, owning pursuits from early client engagement through pre-mobilization while driving estimating strategy, design coordination, and execution planning. Key Responsibilities Lead preconstruction efforts across utility-scale renewable projects (solar + BESS) Manage cross-functional teams spanning estimating, engineering, and procurement Act as the primary point of contact for clients during the preconstruction phase Review drawings, specifications, and contract documents to identify risks and gaps Own the estimating process, including strategy, pricing, and client presentations Drive design coordination and oversee engineering partners through IFC documentation Support contract review, scope definition, and risk mitigation strategies Contribute to EPC agreement reviews alongside senior leadership Evaluate project risks across engineering, procurement, and execution Support change order development, including cost, schedule, and claims analysis Align project schedules with procurement timelines and equipment delivery Oversee budgets and financial performance during preconstruction Lead multiple pursuits simultaneously (typically 1-2 projects) Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors, partners, and stakeholders Mentor and develop junior team members while fostering high-performance teams Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field 5+ years of experience in construction project management, engineering, or preconstruction Proven experience on utility-scale renewable energy projects (solar and/or BESS strongly preferred) Strong understanding of project lifecycle, including estimating, design, procurement, and execution Ability to identify risks and proactively drive solutions across complex projects Excellent communication skills with experience in interfacing with clients and senior stakeholders Proficiency in tools such as Excel, Outlook, Bluebeam, and industry-standard construction software Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment Experience mentoring and developing project teams Why Apply?
