Role Overview
Green Minerals, LLC is seeking a Document Specialist & Closing Agent to support an active Battery Energy Storage (BESS) strategy project in Illinois. This role will be responsible for managing land-related documents, coordinating landowner closings, notarizing documents, and recording executed agreements at county courthouses.
This position is well suited for someone with experience in real estate closings, legal document preparation, land agreements, and courthouse recording, who is comfortable working directly with landowners and legal counsel.
Key Responsibilities
Document & Closing Support
• Review, and manage legal documents related to land leases, options to purchase, easements, and purchase agreements
• Coordinate and facilitate landowner closings for BESS projects
• Ensure documents are properly executed and notarized
Recording & Compliance
• Record executed documents at Illinois county courthouses
• Confirm correct indexing, recording references, and return of recorded instruments
• Maintain organized digital and physical document repositories
• Ensure compliance with internal standards and legal/recording requirements
Qualifications Required
• Experience in document preparation and document management
• Familiarity with legal documents related to real estate or land transactions
• Experience with notarization and courthouse recording (Illinois preferred)
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work on-site and travel locally as required
Preferred
• Experience with renewable energy or battery storage projects
• Knowledge of land leases, options to purchase, easements, or title documents
• Background as a paralegal, closing agent, or title professional
• Bachelor’s degree in Legal Studies, Business, Real Estate, or a related field
