Energy Trader
Energy Trader - Dispatchable & Non-Dispatchable
Junior & Senior positions
Green Line Energy S.A., a member of AGROGROUP, has been active in the renewable energy sector since 2011. We are in a phase of rapid growth and are expanding our RES Aggregator (ΦΟΣΕ) trading and operations team to represent a combination of dispatchable and non-dispatchable portfolios that will soon exceed 1,000 MW of installed capacity.
We are looking for Junior (0–2 years) and Senior (3+ years) traders to manage and optimize our portfolios across the Day-Ahead, Intraday (including XBID), and Balancing Markets. You will work at the heart of the energy transition, using advanced forecasting, real-time market analysis and continuous strategy refinement to maximize value from our assets with the opportunity to help shape the future automation of our trading processes.
Please indicate in your application whether your interest and experience are strongest in dispatchable or non-dispatchable portfolios and whether you are applying at the Junior or Senior level.
Non-Dispatchable Energy Trader
Key Responsibilities
- Submit day-ahead and intraday bids based on probabilistic production and price forecasts, adjusting volume/price strategies in real time.
- Track real-time generation versus market schedules; trade actively in intraday and balancing markets to correct imbalances and capture price spreads.
- Monitor weather, load, and market signals to identify risks and opportunities; maintain close communication with meteorology and analytics teams.
- Calculate P&L drivers, forecast accuracy, and imbalance costs; recommend improvements to bidding logic and data quality.
Dispatchable Energy Trader
Key Responsibilities
- Design and execute daily bidding and dispatch strategies for BESS and flexible PV assets across Day-Ahead, Intraday, and Balancing Markets.
- Monitor real-time asset performance, market prices, and grid signals; make manual dispatch adjustments to capture value and maintain operational reliability.
- Analyze market fundamentals, weather forecasts, and cross-border flows to adjust intraday positions and identify ancillary service opportunities.
- Collaborate with forecasting, IT, and asset management teams to improve decision-support tools and lay the groundwork for future dispatch automation.
- Ensure all trading is within risk limits and in full compliance with REMIT and regulatory requirements.
Working pattern for both roles: Rotating shifts covering market operations, including mornings, evenings, nights, weekends, and public holidays. Exact hours depend on market windows and portfolio needs.
Your Qualifications
Education & Experience

- Junior level: 0–2 years of experience in energy trading, RES asset management, or a similar analytical role.
- Senior level: 3+ years of hands-on experience in short-term power trading, ideally with RES portfolios, dispatchable assets, or aggregator trading desk.
Market & Technical Knowledge
- Solid understanding of European electricity market design (Day-Ahead, Intraday, Balancing, ancillary services). Familiarity with Greek market operations (ADMIE, EnEx, XBID) is strongly preferred.
- For Dispatchable Trader, experience with dispatchable assets (e.g. thermal, hydro, BESS) operation, dispatch optimization concepts or SCADA/EMS platforms.
- For non-Dispatchable Trader, experience with RES forecasting, imbalance settlement and intraday market insight.
- Strong command of Excel and programming skills (Python, R, SQL, VBA) are highly desirable.
- EnEx trader certification (ETCe) or equivalent will be considered an additional qualification.
