Manager, Community Relations – Renewable Power

Location: Braintree, MA (Hybrid)

Salary: $110,000 - $120,000

About the Opportunity

Our client, a growing leader in the renewable energy sector, is seeking a Manager of Community Relations to develop and execute stakeholder engagement and communications strategies for renewable energy projects across the United States.

This role will serve as a key liaison between project teams and local communities, helping to build support, foster positive relationships, and ensure successful project development. The ideal candidate will have experience managing public outreach efforts for energy, infrastructure, or large-scale development projects and be comfortable working with a diverse range of stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement stakeholder engagement and community relations strategies for renewable energy projects throughout various stages of development and operation.
  • Build and maintain relationships with community organizations, local officials, regulatory agencies, business leaders, and other key stakeholders.
  • Collaborate closely with development and asset management teams to support project success and identify potential community concerns.
  • Create and oversee project communications materials, including presentations, mailers, digital content, fact sheets, and FAQs.
  • Manage external public relations and communications consultants to ensure consistent messaging and effective outreach.
  • Coordinate and attend community meetings, open houses, public events, and stakeholder engagement activities.
  • Proactively address stakeholder concerns and develop strategies to mitigate potential project risks.
  • Develop and administer annual charitable giving and community investment initiatives aligned with business objectives.
  • Support broader corporate communications efforts to strengthen organizational visibility and community engagement.
  • Ensure quality control and consistency across all communications and outreach materials.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Policy, Political Science, Public Relations, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in community relations, communications, public outreach, public affairs, or stakeholder engagement within the energy, infrastructure, utilities, or development sectors.
  • Proven experience managing relationships with community stakeholders, government officials, and external partners.
  • Background in renewable energy, infrastructure development, public affairs, political campaigns, or public relations agencies is highly preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to tailor messaging for diverse audiences.
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and project management abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
  • Willingness to travel up to 40% as needed.
