The Environment and Sustainability Manager provides strategic leadership and organisational oversight of environmental management, monitoring, research, and sustainability. The role ensures environmental and sustainability policies, frameworks, systems, and programs are developed, implemented, maintained, and continuously improved in alignment with organisational objectives, statutory requirements, and best-practice environmental governance.
The role also provides high-level advice on environmental risks and opportunities, promotes a culture of environmental responsibility, and builds strong relationships with stakeholders to support organisational outcomes.

The Environment and Sustainability Manager provides strategic leadership and organisational oversight of environmental management, monitoring, research, and sustainability. What you’ll do
- Provide strategic leadership for environmental management, sustainability, monitoring and research across the organisation.
- Set direction and deliver environmental and sustainability strategies, frameworks and action plans.
- Lead and support on‑ground conservation and land management programs in partnership with internal teams.
- Manage environmental risk, governance and compliance with legislation and approvals.
- Drive organisational sustainability initiatives including climate action, resource efficiency and waste reduction.
- Oversee environmental monitoring, reporting and research partnerships to support evidence‑based decisions.
- Build strong relationships with Traditional Owners, regulators, communities and research partners.
- Lead, develop and support a high‑performing Environment and Sustainability team, including budget and contract management.
- Tertiary qualifications in environmental science, natural resource management or a related discipline.
- Significant senior‑level experience (7+ years) in environmental, conservation or sustainability leadership roles.
- Proven ability to lead teams and deliver complex environmental and sustainability programs.
- Strong knowledge of environmental governance, risk management, monitoring and reporting.
- Experience working within regulatory and compliance frameworks.
- Excellent strategic, communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to advise at an executive level.
