About Grassroots Carbon

Grassroots Carbon is the leading grasslands restoration and soil carbon storage company that partners with landowners to implement and scale regenerative land management practices. In addition to enhancing soil health, promoting biodiversity, and improving water quality, these regenerative practices have tremendous potential to combat climate change by drawing down large quantities of atmospheric CO2 into the soil. Grassroots Carbon is proud to have partnered with ranchers across 1.6 million acres in 21 states to implement practices that restore grasslands, improve bird habitats, build soil health, and drive nature-based soil organic carbon drawdown through healthy soils. Built on a foundation of scientific rigor, quality, and transparency, Grassroots Carbon has built strong partnerships with Audubon Conservation Ranching, Texas Agricultural Land Trust, Understand Ag, and Colorado State University's Soil Carbon Solutions Center while generating high-quality soil carbon drawdown credits for leading corporations, including Nestle, Microsoft, Shopify, Marathon Oil, H-E-B, Olipop, and Urban Villages, to offset their carbon impact and reach their sustainability goals.

The Opportunity

Grassroots Carbon is seeking a hands-on, execution-focused Product Operations Manager to build the operational systems and processes that enable our product team to deliver effectively at scale.

As a key member of the Product & Technology team, you'll own product execution: completing requirements documentation, managing releases, establishing feedback loops, and building the operational infrastructure that supports predictable delivery as the company grows.

We're looking for someone who finds satisfaction in bringing structure to ambiguity, thrives on building repeatable processes, and takes pride in ensuring nothing falls through the cracks. This role is perfect for someone who thrives on closing the loop.

Key Responsibilities

Product Operations & Process Design

  • Design and implement product operations processes: sprint planning, backlog management, release coordination, and delivery tracking
  • Establish systems for collecting and synthesizing customer feedback into actionable product insights
  • Establish quality gates, acceptance testing protocols, and definition of done standards
  • Create and maintain dashboards tracking velocity, quality metrics, and delivery predictability
  • Run retrospectives that drive actual process improvement, not just documentation

Product Documentation & Requirements

  • Partner with product leadership and develop into engineering-ready documentation with clear acceptance criteria, edge cases, and constraints
  • Maintain living documentation of product specifications, data requirements, and cross-functional dependencies
  • Develop templates and standards that improve consistency across product initiatives
  • Ensure all shipped features have complete documentation that reduces ambiguity for engineering and users

Release Management

  • Coordinate release planning and execution across product and engineering
  • Partner with engineering on deployment processes and release automation
  • Own release communication to internal stakeholders and customers
  • Track post-release metrics and manage feedback loops from deployment to iteration

Stakeholder Coordination

  • Keep cross-functional teams aligned on delivery timelines and scope changes
  • Manage expectations proactively when commitments are at risk
  • Ensure organizational knowledge is documented and accessible
  • Protect team capacity by making scope tradeoff decisions and holding them

Requirements

What We're Looking For

  • 4-6+ years in product operations, program management, or execution-focused product roles in a SaaS or platform environment
  • Demonstrated experience building or significantly improving product operations processes
  • Strong written communication with proven ability to produce clear, actionable documentation
  • Hands-on experience with agile/scrum tools (Jira, Linear, or similar)
  • Experience with release management practices
  • Experience designing feedback collection systems or customer insight programs
  • Track record of shipping software on predictable timelines

What You'll Demonstrate

  • A completion orientation: you get energy from finishing, not starting
  • Comfort navigating ambiguity and managing competing priorities
  • Skill in building processes that scale without becoming bureaucratic
  • Low ego and high ownership: you care about outcomes
  • The rigor and follow-through to ensure nothing falls through the cracks

Why Join Grassroots Carbon

  • Foundational Role: Build product operations from the ground up at a company in a growth phase
  • Tangible Impact: Your work enables regenerative land management across millions of acres
  • Cross-Functional Visibility: Partner with teams across the organization in a role with broad impact
  • Competitive Compensation & Benefits: Competitive base salary, performance-based bonus, equity participation, health/dental/vision insurance, flexible PTO, 401(k), and support for professional development

Benefits

  • Health Insurance plan with $0 deductible and $0 co-pay
  • Dental and vision insurance plans
  • Flexible spending account option
  • Open Paid Time Off Policy plus 9 paid holidays per year
  • Participation in our 401(k) savings plan
  • Company-paid Life and AD&D coverage
  • Educational materials and expenses to support continuing education opportunities
