The Investment team is responsible for the full lifecycle of investments, from origination and due diligence through structuring, execution and asset management, with a strong focus on risk allocation, value creation and capital preservation.


The Company has particular expertise in:


  • Originating and executing proprietary and off‑market investment opportunities in energy storage.
  • Structuring complex infrastructure investments across development, construction and operational assets.
  • Managing investments through changing regulatory, policy and market environments, with first-mover experience in multiple markets.
  • Forming strategic partnerships and coordinating with developers, lenders, advisors and public‑sector stakeholders to deliver large‑scale BESS investments.

Main purpose of job


Gore Street is looking for a capable and enthusiastic Investment Analyst Intern to join the Investment Team for a period of 6 months as the company continues to grow. The role is varied and dynamic, with exposure to all aspects of the business with a key focus on pipeline deals, sell side processes and asset valuation. The breadth of learning opportunities makes this role well-suited to ambitious candidates with a desire to progress their career in the investment space.


Gore Street expects that the role will transition into a permanent Analyst or Associate level role after the fixed term comes to an end, subject to individual and business performance.


Responsibilities, duties and tasks


Provide key data, analytical, and content support for the investment team in the following areas.


Financial modelling

  • Employ analytical and problem-solving skills to help construct valuation models for assets in pipeline as well as for assets involved in sell-side processes.


  • Provide in-depth analysis based on various scenarios when looking at investment opportunities.


  • Produce Net Asset Value calculations.

  • Engage with auditors and external valuers for discounted cash flow assumption discussions.


Accounting


  • Review management accounts.


  • Engage with the finance team to manage cash flows and budgets for invested companies.


Market Analysis


  • Stay informed of market activity for energy storage and understand how various renewable market regulations impact assets / portfolios.


  • Produce regular market reports and analysis, as required for current and new markets (geographies).


Business Analysis


  • Assist the investment team on the analysis of assets in pipeline; including data room management, tracking information, processing finance and technical data of each pipeline opportunity.


  • Assist the investment team on the analysis of various due diligence reports.


  • Create presentations summarising the investment opportunity.


  • Support and lead on sell-side processes, including valuations and handling due-diligence.


Governance and Reporting


  • Produce IC materials and support on board meeting presentations.


  • Support on interim and annual reports with financial performance analysis of portfolio companies.


  • Produce and update regular reports and analysis on investor demands, as required.


Person Specification


Qualifications/Training


It is essential that the post holder has the following qualifications/ training:


  • Bachelor’s degree required. Masters degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or a related field preferable.


  • In process for ACA qualification is preferable.


Experience/Knowledge


It is essential that the post holder has:


  • Advanced skills in Excel and PowerPoint.


  • Fluency in accounting and cash flow/valuation model.


  • A minimum of 4 years of experience in Big 4, investment banking or financial advisory services in an investment role.


Other Requirements


  • A positive ‘can-do’ attitude with a passion for and understanding of private investing.


  • Strong analytical aptitude, with an understanding of financial analysis.


  • Ability to write in a clear and concise manner.


  • The ability to balance competing workstreams and prioritise accordingly.
