Main purpose of job
The Company is excited to be able to offer a 6 month internship for those who want to accelerate their career within the Company Secretarial space. You will work alongside a team of 2 who possess a wide range of expertise. This is a great opportunity for an enthusiastic individual with a willingness to learn in a complex but rewarding business environment.
The primary focus of the role will be to provide corporate governance and company secretarial support to the Company Secretarial team (the “Team”). We’re looking for someone enthusiastic, who is willing to learn and develop their knowledge and skills.
What you’ll do
- Support the Team on all aspects of governance and company secretarial work for an FCA-regulated investment manager of a London Stock Exchange-listed investment trust.
- Support the Team on the drafting of Board agenda and governance Board papers.
- Work with the Team and third-party service providers to prepare Board packs.
- Support the Team with preparing draft minutes for Board meetings you attend.
- Prepare and follow up on action point lists.
- Help with a listed investment trust’s Annual General Meeting.
- Support on the maintenance of Board and Committee terms of reference.
- Support the Team on the annual and interim reports for a listed investment trust.
- Prepare and submit filings to Companies House, the FCA and other government agencies as needed.
- Support the Team with maintaining statutory records.
- Support the Team with preparing and releasing stock market announcements.
- Support the Team with working with directors and stakeholders to agree the Board calendars and authorised signatory lists.
- Provide support on any corporate actions, including fundraising.
- Provide general administrative support to the Team.
The qualifications, skills, knowledge and experience you’ll need
Preferable
- Degree in Corporate Governance, Law, Business, or a related subject.
- Completed, or started, the Chartered Governance Institute qualifications.

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- An enthusiasm to learn and a can-do attitude.
- Organised, with the ability to prioritise and deliver effectively within strict deadlines.
- A team player with a positive attitude.
