Main purpose of job
Gore Street Capital is a fund manager for multiple energy storage funds, including Gore Street Energy Storage Fund (the first battery energy storage system (“BESS”) fund listed on the London Stock Exchange) which now owns 30 energy operational BESS projects spread across five grids, totalling over 750MW capacity. There is an exciting pipeline beyond this, with more projects planned particularly across continental Europe and Japan.
As a member of the Asset Management team, you will be involved with supporting day-to-day operations and much of this will involve reacting to issues that could develop at any time. The ideal candidate will be comfortable with having accountability for their workload, have excellent organisational skills and find genuine enthusiasm for a fast-paced and highly dynamic position.
Responsibilities, duties and tasks:
- Work on the team’s platform to create monthly reports and deliver templates for ongoing reporting.
- Program analytical algorithms in Python to run continually within the platform.
- Work with other team members to design dashboards within the platform for specific stakeholders.
- Understand and implement AI resources.
- Data collection and analysis of battery performance.
- Undertake market research to support the team, with a focus on European energy grids.
- Support the team on ad-hoc asset management tasks as required.
Person Specification
Qualifications/Training:
It is essential that the post holder has or is undertaking:
- Bachelor’s degree in science or engineering.
It is desirable that the post holder has:
- Any formal training in data science, energy systems, AI or economics is a benefit.
Experience/Knowledge:
It is essential that the post holder has:
- Any level of professional experience.
- Understanding of energy systems, networks and projects is a significant benefit.
