Key Account Manager (Import Supply)

As a Key Account Manager, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional service to our most commercially significant customers, with a primary focus on operational efficiency and revenue management. This role combines high-level personal portfolio management with people leadership, as you will lead a squad of Account Managers while ensuring your own accounts reflect our purpose-driven values.
Responsibilities
- Strategic relationship management: Act as the senior point of contact for key business customers and brokers, building long-term partnerships through proactive engagement and structured reviews.
- Team leadership & coaching: Provide direct line management for a squad of Account Managers, role-modelling best practices and coaching the team to achieve KPIs and service standards.
- Revenue & portfolio health: Take full ownership of account health from onboarding to renewal, using data-led insights to manage performance and ensure invoices are paid within terms. Additionally partner with Debt Recovery Specialists to ensure proactive management of early and late-stage debt.
- Risk & escalation management:Act as the primary escalation point for complex issues, monitoring commercial risks and deploying corrective actions to protect both the customer and the business.
- Commercial growth & strategy: Align customer strategic goals with Good Energy’s products to ensure high customer retention as well as identify and realise partnership and revenue-driving opportunities.
- Operational oversight: Collaborate with Sales, Partnerships, and third-party specialists to ensure contractual adherence and seamless end-to-end service delivery.
- Change & performance leadership: Drive team delivery during periods of significant growth, adapting approach and strategy where necessary and identifying efficiencies to improve team-wide working practices.
What you'll need to succeed
You are a commercially minded leader with deep expertise in B2B account management and a track record of delivering high-level customer success. You possess the analytical skills to navigate complex data and the leadership presence to influence stakeholders, mentor a team, and represent Good Energy’s mission.
Essentials:
- Strong experience of B2B Account Management, ideally within the energy sector, and demonstrate a passion for service excellence and building long-lasting relationships
- Proven ability to role-model best practices, mentor colleagues, and drive team performance.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to use data to identify trends, resolve issues, and improve operational tools.
- A confident communicator capable of engaging and influencing both internal stakeholders and external senior partners.
- A genuine passion for renewable energy and the ability to weave our mission into every client interaction.
- A self-starter who excels at managing a complex portfolio while remaining a dedicated team player.
- Confident traveling to meet key clients in person to strengthen partnerships.
Desirables:
- Experience in renewables, microgeneration, or operational roles within the energy sector.
- Experience leading teams or processes through periods of growth or industry transition.
Hybrid working explained: When and where you’ll be in the office
Our office is based in Chippenham, Wiltshire. For this role, we're looking for candidates who can come in to our Chippenham office, once a week, once a month or once a quarter, based on location.
We offer both formal and informal flexible working options. Full-time hours are 37.5 per week, Monday to Friday.
