We have an exciting opportunity for a proactive, data-driven Compliance Analyst to join our growing team. Reporting to the Head of Information Governance, Risk and Compliance, you’ll play a key role in ensuring the business meets its regulatory, governance and compliance obligations.


This role spans energy regulation, information and operational governance, and risk and assurance activity. You’ll work closely with teams across the business, using data and insight to provide assurance, identify risks, and drive continuous improvement.


Responsibilities:

  • Quality assurance: Carry out regular quality and compliance reviews across operations, providing assurance against policies and regulatory requirements using BI tools such as Power BI.
  • Performance improvement: Measure compliance performance, identify trends, and recommend practical process and training improvements.
  • Compliance testing: Deliver second-line-of-defence testing to support ongoing compliance with regulatory and legal obligations.
  • Reporting & dashboards: Develop and maintain BI dashboards to clearly visualise compliance metrics, KPIs and emerging risks.
  • Regulatory coordination: Support the coordination of Requests for Information (RFIs) and external reporting, working closely with internal data owners and stakeholders.
  • Control validation: Design and deliver effective, proportionate non-compliance checks, leveraging automation and AI where appropriate.
  • Data protection support: Assist with data protection compliance, including breach investigations, data protection impact assessments and general advisory support.


What you'll need to succeed

We’re looking for a proactive, practical analyst, who enjoys working across departments and supporting teams with clear, actionable guidance. As a confident and engaging communicator, you’re able to translate complex concepts into straightforward language that helps teams understand requirements and apply best practice.


You’ll have working knowledge of BI tools such as Power BI and enjoy designing reports that surface data exceptions and support automated control testing. An interest in AI and emerging technologies is a plus, particularly where they can enhance monitoring and assurance over time.


Motivated, approachable and self-sufficient, you’ll be comfortable working independently while collaborating closely with colleagues across the wider team. Although this role has no direct reports, you’ll bring leadership experience and the confidence to take ownership of implementing and embedding governance, risk and compliance processes across the business.

Essential

  • Excellent communication and mentoring skills, good verbal and written communication
  • Proficiency in BI tools (such as Power BI) (data modelling, DAX, dashboard design).
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills
  • An interest in regulation and compliance


Desirable

  • Experience working in a risk and / or assurance function supporting a range of disciplines.
  • Knowledge of the Ofgem supply licence, relevant law and industry code agreements for the supply of energy.
  • Awareness, or experience of working within a 3 Lines of Defence Model (in the capacity of second line) to produce and provide assurances of risk management effectiveness.
  • Understanding of data protection (GDPR / DPA’18).


Hybrid working explained: When and where you’ll be in the office


Our office is based in Chippenham, Wiltshire. For this role, we're looking for candidates who can come in to our Chippenham office, once a week, month or quarter, based on location.


We offer both formal and informal flexible working options. Full-time hours are 37.5 per week, Monday to Friday.
