Director of Fundraising

We're hiring a Fundraising Director in Mumbai.

This is a senior role. You'll build a funding base for Mumbai, corporate, CSR, foundations, individual, that is diverse, engaged, and built on real relationships, not just successful grant cycles.

You'll write proposals. You'll identify who we should be talking to and go talk to them. You'll represent the work, education, skills, girls and gender equity, livelihoods, sustainable enterprise, climate change, inclusion, to funders who need to understand it, not just fund it.

This is about building something in Mumbai that belongs to Mumbai. A funding community that reflects the city its CSR landscape, its foundations, its philanthropists, its institutions and importantly, its young people who are in school, its young people who are transitioning from school to work, sustainable enterprise of her choice. 

What you'll do.

Research, write original, strong proposals. Design and lead needs assessments. Meet the young people in our programs, understand what you are representing, who its for, why it’s important. Map and cultivate CSR and foundation relationships across Mumbai and Maharashtra. Identify new funders. Represent Going to School externally in boardrooms, in meetings, in the field. Build a funding pipeline that is diverse across source, sector, and scale. Report honestly on what's working and what isn't.

What we're looking for.

You've raised funds before. You know Mumbai's corporate and philanthropic landscape. You understand CSR compliance and foundation giving cycles. You write well, clearly, without losing complexity. You don’t use AI, jargon. You can hold a room and you know when to listen instead.

The work covers girls' education, gender equity, climate, livelihoods, inclusion, women, young people, urban, rural, entrepreneurship, sustainable inclusive design. These aren't just categories to you.

Hindi and English, fluently. Marathi, genuinely useful.
