Climate Change Enterprise Researchers, R&D, Mumbai

Going to School is a creative not-for-profit education trust. www.goingtoschool.com

We are looking for ten Climate Change Enterprise Researchers, Entrepreneurs, Designers based in Mumbai. This is not remote, not advisory, this is full-time, field-based, hands-on action-research. You’ll work alongside women from low-income communities across the city to deeply research, develop and prototype new businesses that solve for climate change. You’ll speak Hindi, Marathi, be willing to be outside, on site, getting in the middle of it, working things out.

You must speak Hindi and be willing to travel across the city. You’re curious, inventive, and grounded. You can research, design, develop, write, and financially model sustainable climate enterprises. You’ve either run a business before, built one, or worked on developing sustainable business models that make change happen on the ground, or you’ve designed sustainable packaging, green supply chains, you are moved by climate finance, or you just want to get out there and learn more with young people from low-income groups about what it means to start-up in the city.

This is not an AI research exploration. This is real-world, in-the-field R&D. You’ll research climate change problems in urban Mumbai and co-create business solutions with young people that can be prototyped, tested and scaled — sustainable materials, renewable energy, waste transformation, circular design, climate-tech for cities, low-carbon logistics, all ideas welcome that solve for climate change where we live, transport, packaging, replacement for plastic, logistics, managing garbage, mountains of it, designing for us olive together sustainably, in our cities, hydroponic farming, textiles, ancient to modern ways.

To apply, share your CV, tell us why you and climate change enterprises are it, the date you can join, and a sample of businesses you’ve run, researched, developed, pitched, or any of your climate change or sustainable design research that you’d like us to see. We look forward to it.
