Journeyman Electrician
Location: Denver Metro Area, Colorado
Employment Type: Full-Time, W-2
Pay Range: $32 – $40/hour or $65,000 - $90,000 Salary Package
Reports To: Project Manager or COO
License Required: Active Colorado Journeyman Electrician License (or reciprocal)
Position Summary
As a Journeyman Electrician at Going Green NRG Co., you will play a critical role in installing, troubleshooting, and upgrading electrical systems across our service lines, including LED lighting retrofits, EV charging stations, new construction, remodel, and smart building technologies. This is a hands-on field role with opportunities for leadership, mentorship, and advancement as we continue to grow. You’ll ensure that all work meets NEC, safety, and quality standards—while helping clients save energy and reduce their environmental impact.
Key Responsibilities
Electrical Installation & Retrofitting
Install and retrofit commercial and residential lighting systems with energy-efficient LED technology
Wire and commission EV charging stations (Level 2 and Level 3/DC Fast preferred)
New construction, renovation/remodel, inside and outside work
Install and troubleshoot smart controls, low-voltage systems, and automated thermostats
Ensure all installations are completed safely, efficiently, and up to code
Troubleshooting & Maintenance
Diagnose and repair electrical issues, including circuits, panels, and control systems
Perform testing, inspections, and preventative maintenance on installed systems
Provide timely and effective solutions to job site challenges
Code Compliance & Documentation
Ensure work complies with NEC, local codes, and permitting requirements
Complete required job documentation, including material logs, as-builts, and inspection forms
Work with inspectors to facilitate successful permit closeout
️ Team Collaboration & Mentorship
Work alongside apprentices and guide their learning through on-the-job training
Collaborate with project managers, installers, and other trades for smooth execution
Maintain professionalism in customer-occupied settings and serve as a company representative on-site
Required Qualifications
Active Colorado Journeyman Electrician License (or be able to reciprocate within 30 days)
4+ years of electrical experience, with emphasis on commercial or light industrial
Strong understanding of NEC, electrical schematics, and installation methods
Proficient with hand and power tools, conduit bending, and basic troubleshooting
Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
Full set of electrical tools
OSHA 10 certification
EV charger installation experience (ChargePoint, Tesla, Blink, etc.)
LED retrofit and lighting controls familiarity
Experience with service upgrades, panel swaps, and load calculations
Experience working on green building or rebate-incentive projects
