Volunteer Social Media Marketing Manager (unpaid, 3-4 hr, remote)
Are you passionate about sustainability, environmental action, climate solutions, community engagement, or creating content that inspires positive change?
GoGreenLocally is seeking volunteer Social Media Managers to help share stories, resources, events, and opportunities that empower people to take action in their communities.
As a Social Media Manager, you will take ownership of the social media content for one of our programs or initiatives. This is a great opportunity to build or add to your portfolio, gain hands-on experience, and make a meaningful impact while working with a supportive team.

Social Media Managers may be assigned to one of the following programs or projects:
- Eco Action Challenge Program
- Impact Together Project
- Eco-Action Video Maps
- Podcast & Community Contributors
- Sustainable Arts and Crafts Club
- GoGreenLocally LinkedIn
- Create and publish at least one social media post and one story each week.
- Help highlight program activities, resources, events, and success stories.
- Collaborate with program leaders and other volunteers to gather content ideas.
- Participate in monthly marketing team meetings.
- Follow GoGreenLocally branding and communication guidelines.
- Have the content reviewed by a peer and our marketing team manager before publishing.
- Interest in sustainability, environmental issues, climate solutions, or community engagement.
- Strong written communication skills.
- Familiarity with social media platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
- Creativity and willingness to learn.
- Experience with Canva or other design tools is helpful but not required.
Approximately 3-4 hours per week, including:
- One post per week
- One story per week
- Occasional team meetings and collaboration
- Gain real-world nonprofit marketing experience.
- Build your portfolio with meaningful projects.
- Develop skills in content creation, communications, and digital marketing.
- Receive mentorship and support from experienced volunteers and team leaders.
- Make a positive impact by helping people connect with sustainability and environmental action opportunities in their communities.
