GSustain is an environmental and sustainability consulting organisation providing services in climate change, carbon management, GHG validation and verification, environmental consulting, and sustainability solutions.
We are looking for a motivated and technically competent Senior Associate – Carbon Projects & Climate Solutions to join our team in India. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in carbon project-related work, carbon credit standards, consulting, and validation and verification (V/V), preferably within a Validation and Verification Body (VVB).
- Support the development, assessment, validation, and verification of carbon projects under recognised carbon crediting programmes.
- Work with applicable carbon standards and frameworks, including the Global Carbon Council (GCC), Gold Standard, and Verified Carbon Standard (VCS).
- Review project documentation, monitoring reports, GHG emission reduction calculations, baseline assessments, and supporting evidence.
- Contribute to carbon project consulting, technical assessments, and the preparation and review of project documentation.
- Support validation and verification engagements in accordance with applicable standards, methodologies, and programme requirements.
- Coordinate with clients, project developers, technical experts, and internal teams to ensure the timely delivery of assignments.
- Participate in client meetings, identify potential business opportunities, and support client acquisition and business development for carbon project and V/V services.
- Assist in preparing technical proposals, commercial submissions, project scopes, and client presentations.
- Undertake project-related travel and on-site assignments as required.
- Master's degree in Environmental Sciences or an equivalent relevant discipline.
- Minimum 3 years of relevant professional experience in carbon projects, carbon markets, climate consulting, or related areas.
- Experience working with a Validation and Verification Body (VVB) will be strongly preferred.
- Familiarity with one or more of the following: GCC, Gold Standard, and VCS.
- Understanding of carbon project development, validation and verification processes, GHG accounting, and emission reduction methodologies.
- Experience in client acquisition, business development, or managing client relationships will be an advantage.
- Strong technical writing, analytical, documentation, and communication skills.
- Willingness to work on-site from our India office in Delhi NCR or Raipur.
- Candidates who can join within one month are preferred.
