Associate Project Manager – Onshore Wind


About the Role

An opportunity has arisen for an Associate Project Manager – Onshore Wind to support the development of renewable energy projects across the UK. This role offers the chance to contribute to the delivery of onshore wind projects from early-stage concept through to final investment decision.

Working within a collaborative project environment, you will support project delivery activities and play a key role in advancing projects that contribute to the energy transition.


Key Responsibilities

  • Support Project Managers in delivering key development milestones for onshore wind projects.
  • Maintain project documentation including schedules, risk registers, budgets, and stakeholder plans.
  • Take ownership of defined workstreams such as stakeholder engagement, environmental surveys, or design coordination.
  • Coordinate with internal teams and external consultants to ensure alignment across project phases.
  • Engage with landowners, public authorities, and local communities throughout the development lifecycle.
  • Promote safe, structured, and compliant project delivery practices.


Location

  • Edinburgh, UK (Hybrid).
  • Travel and occasional out-of-hours work may be required.
  • Driving licence desirable but not essential.


Requirements

  • Degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related discipline.
  • Approximately 3+ years’ experience in a professional project environment, ideally within infrastructure, energy, or development.
  • Understanding of core project management principles.
  • Strong communication skills in English (written and spoken).
  • Ability to engage effectively with a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Structured and detail-oriented approach to managing documentation and project data.
  • Motivated to learn and develop within the renewable energy sector.


Desirable

  • Formal project management qualification (e.g. PRINCE2, APM).
  • Experience in renewable energy or large-scale infrastructure development.
