About the role and the team
We are seeking a strategic and hands-on communications leader to join our Global Research and Analysis team as their Head of Communications. Based in the UK, this full-time ongoing role will be instrumental in shaping and delivering the Institute’s global communications strategy. You will shape how we connect with audiences globally, helping us reach our audiences to advance the Institute’s mission.
Leading a small but high-impact team, you will cultivate a collaborative, high-performing culture and drive the delivery of high-quality communications that align with the Institute’s strategic priorities. You will bring exceptional communication, leadership and stakeholder engagement skills, with a results-driven mindset and the ability to influence at senior levels—ideally with experience in the climate or energy sector.
As a primarily remote based role with occasional in-person meetings, you will be comfortable working independently within a global workforce and adapting to different time zones when required. This is an exciting leadership opportunity for someone who has a flair for translating complex material into accessible insights, a passion for raising brand awareness and a talent for building strong stakeholder relationships.
Your contribution and impact
- Strategic people leader with a results-driven mindset: Bring your strategic leadership expertise to lead the Institute’s global pipeline of deliverables, ensuring seamless coordination of reports, thought leadership, events and publications.
- Skilled communicator and compelling storyteller: Showcase your excellent communication skills with the ability to simplify complex or technical content into accessible insights with clarity and impact.
- Thought leadership and influence: Drive the development of high-quality content and strategic insights that strengthen external engagement and reinforces the Institute’s influence within CCS.
- Highly Skilled in Audience and Stakeholder Engagement: Lead impactful communication initiatives and campaigns aligned to organisational priorities, while fostering strong collaborative relationships across internal teams, members and external stakeholders, enhancing collaboration and influence.
About you
To succeed in this role, you will bring proven leadership experience and a track record of delivering organisation-wide or global strategies. You will be skilled in digital platforms, with strong stakeholder and people management capabilities, and a collaborative leadership style that reinforces our company Values: integrity, quality and collaboration.
