Senior Sustainability Consultant
- About this opportunity
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Day-to-day accountability for commissions or workstreams, including scope, programme, resources, risk, quality and budget.
- Define and lead the technical approach within delegated authority, producing and reviewing clear outputs and recommendations.
- Manage client communications, workshops, expectations, actions and interfaces with other disciplines.
- Coordinate small teams, delegate work, review outputs and provide constructive feedback and coaching.
- Manage fees, budgets, and invoicing intervals, identify change and raise opportunities for additional services.
- Draft technical sections of bids and fee proposals and where applicable to specialism support client interviews or presentations.
- Improve and develop methods and tools, share knowledge, contribute to training, and consistent adoption.
- Support line management and escalate contractual, technical or strategic risks promptly.
- Delivery to agreed scope, quality, programme and budget.
- Trusted client relationships, well-managed change and contribution to repeat or additional work.

- Who we’re looking for:
- Significant relevant consulting or sector experience.
- Proven ability to lead defined workstreams or commissions and coordinate multidisciplinary inputs.
- Strong specialist knowledge in a relevant discipline; examples may include certification, carbon assessment, decarbonisation or EDD services.
- Ability to review and assure the quality of technical outputs and recommendations.
- Strong stakeholder management, facilitation, communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to coach and support junior team members.
- Commercial awareness, including budgeting, fee management, change control and identification of additional services.
- Degree, equivalent qualification or relevant experience.
- Relevant professional qualification or accreditation where appropriate.
