About the Role:
We are seeking a highly motivated Social Compliance Manager to lead our sustainability, environmental, health, safety (EHS), and corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives. This strategic role ensures the alignment of all social compliance and sustainability programs with both global standards and Giza Spinning’s long-term sustainability objectives.
Key Responsibilities1. EHS and CSR Program Development
- Lead the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of comprehensive EHS and CSR programs.
- Ensure alignment with corporate sustainability goals and local/international compliance standards.
2. Sustainable Development Leadership
- Serve as the focal point for all sustainability initiatives across the organization.
- Oversee the monitoring and reporting of sustainability indicators and KPIs.
- Benchmark against industry best practices to drive ongoing improvement.
3. Policy and Compliance Oversight
- Develop, review, and enforce company policies related to sustainability, climate change, and social responsibility.
- Ensure compliance with international standards (e.g., ISO 14001, ISO 45001, SA8000, BSCI, WRAP, SEDEX).
4. Risk Management and Incident Prevention
- Conduct risk assessments and safety audits to identify potential hazards.
- Implement corrective and preventive actions to enhance workplace safety and reduce environmental impact.
5. Sustainability Reporting and Frameworks
- Prepare sustainability and ESG reports in line with GRI and ESG standards.
- Stay current with emerging sustainability trends and evolving compliance requirements.
6. Internal Audits and Culture Integration
- Lead internal audits and follow-up actions related to social and environmental compliance.
- Promote a culture of safety, responsibility, and continuous improvement across all departments.
7. Training and Capacity Building
- Develop and deliver training programs for employees on safety, environmental awareness, and sustainability best practices.
- Support recruitment and development of EHS and sustainability-focused teams.
8. Innovative Social Contributions
- Develop community engagement and CSR initiatives that create shared value for the company and society.
- Encourage innovative digital solutions that promote sustainability and transparency.
- Reduced TRIR by 30% through effective safety management systems.
- Achieved a 10% reduction in waste generation, contributing to sustainability targets.
- Decreased energy consumption by 5% via targeted efficiency programs.
- Expanded training programs to over 2,700 employee hours, increasing EHS awareness and capability.
- Enhanced audit performance in both 2nd and 3rd party evaluations.
- Elevated safety culture maturity from Level 1 to Level 3 (out of 5).
- Collaborated with HR to achieve the Egyptian Women Empowerment Seal and attain World-Class Maturity in gender inclusion.
- Minimum 15-20 years of experience in EHS, CSR, or Social Compliance within the manufacturing or textile industry.
- Experience in social compliance, conducting audits, and risk assessments
- Knowledge of local and international labor standards
- Strong report writing and documentation skills
- Excellent communication and training skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders
- Strong knowledge of international compliance frameworks (BSCI, WRAP, SEDEX, SA8000, ISO standards).
- Bachelor's degree in Social Sciences, Business, Law, or related field
- Proficiency in relevant software applications
- Experience in the textile industry is a plus
