Role Description

Provide dedicated support to the successful planning and design of a 2- year Workforce Development Initiative for Cleantech Co-op Programs at Atlanta-based Minority Serving Institutions (MSIs).


The Program Management Fellow (PM Fellow) will be hired as a temporary 12-month Georgia Tech employee (tech temp) dedicated to the program. The PM Fellow will lead the outreach and planning efforts and serve as the central liaison for the project between GACIH, the Partnership for Innovation (PIN), and the three targeted participating universities. The primary goal is to establish the necessary relationships, program structures, and enabling resources (e.g., funding) for a successful co-op launch in the future. This position will interact on a regular basis with: GACIH and PIN leadership, partner university leaders, other Fellows supporting universities, and cleantech industry partners.


This position may advise and counsel: University Fellows/Interns, faculty, leadership, and staff involved in planning. This position will supervise: N/A.


Work Logistics

  • Time Type: Full Time (Hourly)
  • Job Location: Atlanta, GA
  • Work Location: Hybrid (~30% in-person | ~70% remote)
  • Travel Requirements: Minimal - mostly local travel | must be able to traverse the ATL Metro area


Responsibilities

  • Stakeholder Coordination and Relationship Management: Serve as the central liaison, leading coordination efforts between GACIH, PIN, and the partner MSIs to proactively foster trust, collaboration, and insights.
  • Program Design Support and Synthesis: Assist with co-op planning efforts, supporting sharing of best practice between key stakeholders at participating institutions and creating a playbook to aid future program expansion.
  • Partner Deliverable Oversight: Guide the creation of each university’s concept paper that describes how the school will design, deliver, fund the program, including how to maximize student participation and recruit organizations to host students for work experiences.
  • Business Development and Industry Engagement: Support business development efforts to identify and secure co-op opportunities with cleantech and sustainability-focused companies. Help launch an industry partner outreach campaign; compile target lists; and assist in the finalization of partnership agreements.
  • Project Monitoring and Reporting: Lead monitoring and evaluation efforts. Conduct progress tracking against milestones and issue resolution. Ensure deliverables are met, e.g., partner lists, baseline assessment report for existing experiential learning infrastructure.
  • Fundraising Support: Collaborate with GACIH, PIN, and university partners to develop a pipeline for follow-on funding, which is crucial for program launch and sustainability.
  • Miscellaneous Project Support: Manage and complete a variety of special projects/tasks requiring skills in data analysis, writing/editing, and collaborative problem-solving necessary for the multi-sector partnership.


Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Two to three years job related experience.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Three to four years of job-related experience (project/program management, working in higher education institutions, building partnerships, and securing funding opportunities).

Compensation

The fellowship will be administered in partnership with PIN (Partnership for Innovation), located at the Georgia Institute of Technology. All Fellows are compensated at $53,800 for the 12-month period, no matter the degree level, discipline, or years of experience.
