This role is categorized as HYBRID . The successful candidate is expected to report to 7000 Building (Warren, MI), or Austin IT Innovation (Austin, TX) or Mountain View Technical Center (Mountain View, CA) 3 times per week, at minimum. This job may be eligible for relocation benefits.

Senior Software Product Manager Home Energy & Charging Products

Responsibilities

  • Lead product strategy and roadmap for Home Energy and Charging software in collaboration with the broader Software Product Management team.
  • Own and drive backend logic for charging and energy management, app updates, and platform enhancements.
  • Define and prioritize product features, write user stories and acceptance criteria, and manage the agile development backlog.
  • Champion customer needs through direct feedback and insights, ensuring the roadmap aligns with user expectations.
  • Collaborate with IT and PMO teams on sprint planning, demos, and program syncs.
  • Deliver clear, concise updates to stakeholders and leadership.
  • Develop strategies to increase user engagement and adoption.
  • Establish and monitor KPIs, recommending improvements based on performance.
  • Research new ideas to support EV adoption and enhance GM Energys software offerings.
  • Partner with QA and IT teams to ensure robust testing, training, and production readiness.
  • Follow GMs software development standards across design, testing, deployment, and change management.
  • Support cross-functional GM Energy initiatives as needed.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years in product management, program management, software development, or customer experience.
  • Bachelor Degree required
  • Experience with software product management practices preferred.
  • Familiarity with EVs, charging infrastructure, IoT devices, energy markets, and utilities.
  • Ability to quickly learn GMs internal tools and systems.
  • Bachelors degree preferred.
  • Strong communication skills, with experience presenting to senior leadership.

Compensation

The compensation information is a good faith estimate only. It is based on what a successful applicant might be paid in accordance with applicable state laws. The compensation may not be representative for positions located outside of New York, Colorado, California, or Washington.

  • The salary range for this role is $119,000 - $183,200. The actual base salary offered will vary based on factors relevant to the position.
  • Bonus Potential: An incentive pay program offers payouts based on company performance, job level, and individual performance.
