Let’s Talk About The Role

The Senior Project Engineering Manager will lead the engineering execution of complex, large-scale EPC projects, ensuring seamless delivery across schedule, cost, quality, and technical requirements.

You will act as the technical lead for the HVDC Solution Line, overseeing multidisciplinary teams and driving the integration of complex engineering scopes. By managing critical interfaces and fostering collaboration between procurement, construction, and commissioning teams, you will ensure our projects meet the highest standards of safety and excellence. You will serve as a primary technical contact for customers and partners, navigating project risks and driving continuous improvement to ensure successful project outcomes.

How You Will Make a Difference

  • Owning the end-to-end delivery of engineering activities of the HVDC Solution Line scope of works on large EPC projects, ensuring alignment with schedule, budget, and technical requirements.

  • Leading and coordinating multidisciplinary engineering teams, ensuring that deliverables are integrated, consistent, and aligned with project milestones.

  • Acting as the technical lead within the project, driving decision-making and managing interfaces between engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and customers.

  • Establishing and maintaining effective communication with customers, partners, and suppliers on technical topics, ensuring transparency, responsiveness, and trust.

  • Anticipating and managing risks by maintaining an up-to-date risk register, driving mitigation plans, and enforcing a structured change management process.

  • Ensuring high standards of quality and compliance, applying internal processes, safety (EHS) requirements, and industry best practices throughout the project lifecycle.

  • Representing engineering in project governance, providing clear reporting on progress, issues, and KPIs, and contributing to key project reviews and decisions.

  • Supporting site teams during execution, ensuring a smooth transition from design to construction and commissioning, and resolving technical issues efficiently.

  • Mentoring and empowering project engineers, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement across the engineering organization.

  • Carrying out regular and thorough reviews of the progress and delivery of the HVDC Solution Line scope of work assessing all aspects of the project, including time, cost, quality, and risks.

Special Role Requirements

  • Comfortable with occasional travel (Europe and internationally) for project needs.

Skills For Success

You should be a collaborative leader who thrives in complex, fast-paced environments, with:

  • Strong experience as a Project Engineering Manager or similar role in EPC environments: Energy, Transmission, Distribution, Oil & Gas, Power Generation, or similar industries.

  • A proven track record with a minimum of 2 projects delivered, managing medium (100M)tolargesizeprojects(500M)tolargesizeprojects(500M+).

  • Strong project management skills and solid experience coordinating multidisciplinary teams and multiple stakeholders, ideally across international and multicultural environments.

  • A strong understanding of engineering project lifecycles, risk management, technical interfaces, and configuration/change control.

  • Excellent communication and leadership skills: able to influence, align teams, and represent engineering with confidence in internal and customer meetings.

  • A keen interest in contributing to the global energy transition through cutting-edge technology.

A formal education in Electrical, Power Systems, or a related engineering field is nice to have, but we are most interested in your total experience and professional achievements.

This is a permanent position based in our Stafford office.

We have a hybrid working model which gives you flexibility to work from our offices and from home.
