As Sr Principal Engineer CTH - Steam Turbine Upgrades & Retrofits Integration, you serve as a technical authority for steam turbine upgrade and retrofit integration across fossil and nuclear projects, guiding work from tendering through to project execution.
You lead technical reviews, support tenders and projects, shape design rules and technology roadmaps, and help ensure upgrade solutions are rigorous, consistent, and aligned to best practice. You work closely with engineering teams, customers, and suppliers to resolve complex technical issues, reduce risk, improve customer value, and strengthen engineering productivity. You also support knowledge sharing, mentoring, and the development of technical capability across global teams.

As Sr Principal Engineer CTH - Steam Turbine Upgrades & Retrofits Integration, you serve as a technical authority for steam turbine upgrade and retrofit integration across fossil and nuclear projects, guiding work from tendering through to project execution.
You lead technical reviews, support tenders and projects, shape design rules and technology roadmaps, and help ensure upgrade solutions are rigorous, consistent, and aligned to best practice. You work closely with engineering teams, customers, and suppliers to resolve complex technical issues, reduce risk, improve customer value, and strengthen engineering productivity. You also support knowledge sharing, mentoring, and the development of technical capability across global teams.
How You Will Make a Difference
- Technical authority for Fossil and Nuclear Steam Turbine retrofits including oOEM
- Serve as Lead Reviewer to tenders and projects in execution for the Fossil and Nuclear Steam Turbine retrofits to ensure its rigorous, consistent, and challenging application across projects. This will involve close liaison and cooperation with the PEM community
- Guide and review NPIs for the Nuclear upgrade design (e.g. HP mixing chamber design)
- Defining technology and tools roadmap with the goal to drive customer value and engineering productivity.
- Authority and technical competence for ITB technology being applied in large upgrades
- Represent GEV technical expertise and technology in front of customers
- Provide technical consultancy to the global engineering teams to assist the resolution of specific technical issues encountered on projects.
- Actively participate in special (non-routine) technical investigations, including RCAs initiated in response to NCRs, engineering issues, operational incidents, etc.
- Ensure that the available design rules (design practices, methods & standards) meet the requirements of the ITR SPS business for project execution, consistent with current best practice and experience feedback. This includes liaison to initiate and drive the preparation or modification of ‘standard’ design rules for new / existing products, as well as new NPI projects to support future market development and competitive positioning of products.
- Actively participate in Tender kick-off meetings to provide technical consultancy that complements the formal experience feedback process into Tendering, thereby minimizing technical risks from the outset.
- Promote the development, capture and sharing of best practice knowledge and ensure consistent application across SP Operations Engineering.
- Assist in the development of technical resources through mentoring, advising, and supporting the global engineering teams during the design review process & associated specific technical reviews.
You are a technically strong, collaborative engineering leader who brings deep steam turbine knowledge, sound judgement, and a pragmatic approach to complex retrofit and upgrade challenges.
- Deep technical expertise in design principals, proprietarily design tools and operational experience of the Rugby-ITB technology being todays standard for Fossil and Nuclear upgrades
- Significant experience in steam turbine design with technical responsibility
- Effectively communicate and provide recommendations through the analysis, preparation and presentation of technical data.
- Able to interface effectively with all levels of the organization as well as represent the business externally with customers/suppliers.
