Job Description Summary

GE Grid Automation unit in Walbrzych, Poland is an emerging and growing business in the field of protection relays, CCS and DCS solutions for distribution, transmission and industry sectors of energy market. The region in which we are mainly active includes Poland, Czech and Slovak Republics, Hungary, Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Ukraine, Moldova. We are dynamically introducing the digital substation technology with several success stories in the region behind. We are now looking forward to strengthening our engineering team in order to deliver to our commitments on 400/220/30 kV onshore power station in Poland

Job Description

The main responsibilities for this position are:

  • develop project design in a multi-national team,
  • verify the project compliance against Polish energy and construction regulations,
  • contribute to technical discussions with the client, TSO (PSE), and other stakeholders on Grid Automation side,
  • calculate Protection Setpoints,
  • liaise with GE manufacturing units to combine the client’s requirements ver. feasibility, recommend solutions which both meet the requirements and secure GE interest,
  • actively contribute to development of ARST (automatic regulation of power transformers) and ARNE (Automatic regulation of power plant voltage),
  • develop project documentation including:
    • Operation and Maintenance Manuals for SCADA, Protection & Control System, computers, servers, GTW’s, and other standalone systems,
    • Operation manuals for ARST/ARNE,
    • Operation manuals on Cybersecurity and protocols,
    • as-built design,
  • support the project management team;

Qualifications:

  • Education:
    • Technical High School Diploma of a relevant faculty of protection & automation in energy systems;
  • Experience:
    • sound and working experience in power systems, specifically transmission, in the field of protection relays, computer networks, switches, routers, gateways, etc;
    • knowledge of HV/MV systems, incl. bus bar applications, standards applied, specifications, requirements, communication protocols, etc.;
    • working experience with E-plan Electrical / Engineering Base / Autocad / MS Visio
    • acquaintance of GE range of HV/MV protection relays i.e. Micom Px40, Multilin UR, will be a plus;
    • interpersonal skills to effectively interact with a diverse groups of stakeholders, both external and internal;
  • Specific knowledge:
    • Native or fluent Polish;
    • English command to effectively communicate with customers abroad and other GE functions abroad;
    • Visibility of work requires attention to detail, excellent organizational skills,
