Job Description Summary

You will utilize your experience or expertise to lead a team of technical staff within a project team, to solve problems, develop and execute objectives for yourself and others, manage the engineering design and/or testing activities in accordance with the project technical requirements and have the ability to effect short-term and some long-term business goals to meet the required technical outcomes and delivery of the project.

Job Description

Essential Responsibilities

  • Provide technical leadership to personnel supporting the assigned project to comply with the customers’ requirements, legal obligations and as necessary to achieve installation.
  • Document technical data generated by the assigned project consistent with engineering policies and procedures
  • Participate in risk and opportunity management
  • Participate as a presenter or reviewer in technical and program reviews
  • Provide timely communication on significant issues or developments
  • Identify and assess engineering activities based on tender/contract documentation and specific customer/project requirements, estimate engineering man-hours and timelines.
  • Manage the team resource to achieve technical, quality, time and budget milestones and resolve technical issues which arise during the design implementation phase

Health and Safety

  • Demonstrate EHS leadership and ensure Zero Deviation Plan is implemented within the team
  • Identify and evaluate EHS risks in own area and implement practical measures
  • Participate in hierarchical/team safety visits and lead EHS improvement initiatives
  • Set objectives and measure results to encourages EHS performance as a contributing factor to reach business objectives
  • Set the example by demonstrating the proper acts and actively observe work conditions and behaviours, giving constructive feedback and celebrating EHS effective prevention.
  • Actively participates in defining corrective actions when work is unsafe or when an uncontrolled risk is observed.
  • Routinely observe routines and behaviours of others and provide immediate feedback regarding unsafe behaviour and celebrates achievements or safe behaviours.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Controls Engineering
  • Significant experience in power Engineering and experience in technical supervision
  • Travelling required : 30%
