Job Description Summary

The Lean Leader will provide tactical and operational support within the Stafford Manufacturing facility in the development and sustainment of a Lean / Industrialisation / Manufacturing and Inventory Strategy aligned with the business Goals.

The successful candidate will partner with the organizational leadership to drive process improvements that will deliver effective Supply Chain processes, meet customers demand requirements and on time delivery.

This by acting in areas as Order entry, engineering scheduling, manufacturing industrialization, manufacturing scheduling and cycles, capacity improvements, visual management and daily management.

Job Description

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for continuous improvement, being an innovator of positive change that impacts Safety, Quality, Deliver, Cost and People.
  • Inspire shop transformation through implementation and coaching of site wide Daily Management from level 0 through level 3.
  • Drives execution of Lean principles and all related initiatives such as Kaizen, moonshine projects, structured problem solving and other “Best in Class” continuous improvement processes.
  • Lead various cross-functional teams of hourly and salaried individuals in support of Kaizen and Lean Action Work-out events.
  • Create and improve Value Stream Maps to find opportunities for production/process enhancement to achieve organizational goal.
  • Implement Lean Manufacturing strategy and initiatives including set-up reduction, workplace organization, standardized work, process/workflow improvements, and visual management, and inventory reduction.
  • Create performance management reporting through Lean visual management methods and through Daily Management to improve SQDCM(Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, People).
  • Analyze problems, account for variances, drive for root cause and implement improved methods and procedures, create, review and update improvement plans.
  • Coordinate efforts with site moonshine team to drive the production preparation process where required (3P).

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college (or Trade school certificate/degree and direct hands-on experience in manufacturing).
  • Demonstrated experience in a production manufacturing role responsible for driving process improvements.
  • Proven experience in conducting Kaizens as well as establish wing to wing VSM and daily management.
  • Able to mentor and facilitate lean culture change in an environment with varying acceptance. Knowledge of manufacturing management such as production and inventory control, quality management systems, and standard cost systems.

Desired Characteristics:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering.
  • Six Sigma, Black Belt and/or Lean Manufacturing certification.
  • Experience working in small to medium Takt time business processes in heavy industrial and large assembly environment.
  • Excellent written and oral communication and presentation skills with the ability to speak and communicate effectively with both senior management and production teams.
  • Exceptional organizational and project management skills; demonstrated ability to lead programs / projects.
