Job Description Summary

As the GSC Quality Leader, you will be responsible for leading a global based Supplier Management team within the GSI Business Line, including supplier compliance, capability and quality responsibilities across supplier development and monitoring activities. You will be responsible to lead the teams for successful Supplier Management activities within specified GE manufacturing site and projects. This position works closely with Sourcing, Procurement, Manufacturing Operations, Product Management and Engineering to deliver quality products to our customers with a total cost mindset. You will also lead all quality activities for GSC, example: NPI (New Product Introduction) with engineering.

Job Description

Essential Responsibilities

  • Includes both Supplier Quality Assurance and Control, Supplier Quality Development. Excludes supplier qualifications, action plans and audits but requires great coordination with Industrialization team and Sourcing on Supplier Performance evaluation. Will lead SQEs to have various levels of differentiation which are related to level of technical understanding of engineering drawings and ability to manage vendors. It also includes Incoming goods inspections.
  • Utilizes technical expertise and judgement to solve problems. Leverages technical skills and analytic thinking required to solve problems. May use multiple internal sources outside of own team to arrive at decisions.
  • Lead the development & execution of short and mid-term Supplier Management strategies and performance that support a competitive advantage in partnership with Sourcing, Manufacturing Operations, Product Management and Engineering.
  • Accountable for the identification, prioritization, budgeting, and resource planning for Supplier Management resources to support business objectives and key initiatives for their team’s scope. Daily presence of SQE at the factory is needed.
  • Responsible for people leadership activities including recruiting, performance management, people development, and technical development to deliver outcomes across their scope.
  • Responsible for execution of QMS and Compliance requirements associated with Supplier Management.
  • Responsible for push supplier improvements within RCA (Root Cause Analysis), drive process or product qualification, manage the SDR (Supplier Deviation Request) Process, monitoring and support the CoPQ (Cost of Poor Quality) Recovery.
  • Support improvement in Supplier Management processes through digitization and simplification including management / employee communication, policy recommendations and bowler dashboards.

Responsible for key Supplier Management metrics

  • Coordinate the Governance across the different regions.
  • Apply Lean tool to simplify and streamline the process of sharing and analyze the KPI, bowlers, project dashboards, VOC…
  • Define together with the QA team the right process to introduce, monitor and embed the APQP inside the Project management process.
  • Ensure escalation point and escalation channel to dive effective problem resolutions.
  • Support the quality leadership to establish proper communication strategy to communicate across the entire organization business and quality performance (all hands meeting, newsletters, internal site, recurrent announcements, quality moments, safety dialogue).

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering.

7+ years experience in Supplier Quality, Supply Chain, Engineering or Quality Management.

Fluent in English.

Excellent leadership skills demonstrating cross-functional teamwork and understand factors impacting the businesses and our suppliers.

Influence/communication - establishes good relationships; drives continuous improvement across functional & global boundaries.

Proficient in leading and setting direction for teams, including demonstrated ability to motivate, influence and drive change at all levels of the organization.

Willing to travel domestically and internationally up to 30% of time (if not based in Stafford-UK).

Desired Characteristics

Bachelor’s Degree in engineering (industrial, production, mechanical, electrical, metallurgical).

Extensive experience in Supplier Quality and/or Quality activities with expertise across technical areas, program management, compliance/general product quality areas and process knowledge aligned with engineered equipment industry.

Proven leadership in driving results and process improvements, including strong Change Acceleration Process skills.

Quality experience with a focus on customer experience as the number 1 driver.

Strong Lean experience and continuous improvement mindset, simplifying processes and removing waste.

Proven analytical and organizational ability.
