Job Description Summary
Provides leadership and planning for all maintenance activities in support of high-volume turbine assembly operations. Responsible for Operational Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost, managing a team of GE Maintenance Technicians.Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Drive continuous improvement and Lean initiatives within the sites’ facilities maintenance and infrastructure operation.
- Leads a team of GE Maintenance Technicians responsible for performing maintenance on equipment, tooling, and facilities to support the production team and ensure uninterrupted flow to support production schedule
- Provides leadership to team that builds a team environment with safety as a top priority
- Develops, coordinates, leads, and executes daily maintenance plans
- Coordinates continuity of workload across all shifts
- Develops and executes training plans
- Monitors, dispatches, and completes work assignment to ensure timely results
- Coordinates consistent and effective shift-to-shift transition
- Achieves high levels of internal and external customer service
- Develops and implements process controls
- Supports Plant Facilities Leader in the strategic planning of manpower, equipment, and other resources
- Mentors and motivates team in safety, quality, predictive and proactive maintenance activities
- Coordinates resources to achieve goals with a timely and cost-effective strategy
- Contacts and follows through with external suppliers and contractors to meet deliverables
- Works with cross-functional peers to troubleshoot and resolve equipment and facilities issues as they arise
- Supports, encourages, and drives core maintenance and Lean principles by providing adequate time for training defining and influencing teams to accomplish continuous improvement projects
- Works to maintain and further develop Visual Management, including support for 5S, parts and metric displays
- Monitors performance against business objectives (operational and financial) and takes proactive action to solve problems and mitigate risk in meeting these objectives
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with a minimum of 4 years of facilities and/or equipment maintenance)
- Minimum of 3 years of operational leadership experience in facilities and/or equipment maintenance in a manufacturing environment
Eligibility Requirements:
- Ability to work emergency call-ins on short notice
- Ability to work weekends, any shift, flexible hours when needed.
