Tax Specialist - Indirect Tax
Job Description Summary
As a VAT Analyst, you'll play an integral part within GE GRID Controllership team. Supporting GE GRID affiliates across different countries in South America, this role provides legal, regulatory and tax compliance for multiple GE entities and focuses particularly on VAT analyses and preparation.Job Description
Essential Responsibilities
- Preparation and analysis of VAT return on a monthly /bi-monthly/ quarterly basis
- Provide Stamp returns, withholding tax returns, some informative returns, additional country specify reports
- Ensure to be compliant with country specific rules and obligations, meet the deadlines for all reports
- Carry out VAT clearing postings, VAT liquidation process
- Perform quarterly detailed account reconciliations
- Follow up erroneous account receivable/ payable entries
- Interact with Business VAT Managers and Country Controllership team
- Cooperate with other functions and provide support by answering VAT related queries
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in finance related field
- Written and verbal fluency in English
- Understanding of VAT obligations and regulations
- Accounting knowledge
- Strong analytical skills
- Intermediate to advance excel knowledge
- Good communication and influencing skills; easily adapt to changes
- SAP or Oracle system knowledge
Desired Characteristics
- Experience in a Global Business / Shared Service Center /Big Four
- Working experience on local and / or international VAT regulations
