Job Description Summary
You are responsible to lead test creation and automation, of a software suite, module or a large component and covering a feature, set of features, or whole feature area. You will work independently and contribute to the well-structured automation framework automated test scripts, test case execution, defect logging and tracking.In this role you will be responsible for defining & maintaining the quality of the product. Owns smoke, regression, performance, module test cases etc. & are executed on schedule basis based on Quality plan.
Maintain & project different metrics that show the Automation benefits towards cycle time saving, test coverage and current quality of the product.
Job Description
Essential Responsibilities:
In this role, you will:
Define Test Strategy, design the QA framework for automated and manual tests, lead the implementation of test strategy, test plans and test execution.
Evaluate and recommend the right tools, techniques and methodologies needed to enhance productivity and quality based on deep understanding of the business needs.
Collaborate with Product Management teams to strategize & align long term solution for test automation including roadmap, tools, framework & approach, help arrive at Test plans, review test cases and monitor test execution as necessary
Create a standard framework for Functional Automation, Performance Testing and Security and Penetration Testing and integrate with the overall DevOps model.
Should be flexible to work on manual testing and automation based on business need.
Research, recommend and implement tools as needed with the goal of increasing automation
Execute final test procedures ensuring best quality and meeting timelines.
Should support the continued designing, building, testing and deployment of effective Test Automation Solutions/ Test Automation Framework.
Work experience with product development and validation process.
Knowledge of defect tracking and test management tools and identify and report defects and issues detected during testing.
Strong product knowledge of Protection & Control Relays and IEC61850 applications.
Proactively bringing issues and problems to the attention of the team; generating, proposing and implementing innovative solutions to solve them
Be meticulous about documentation and maintaining a robust log of all test cases and test results
Learn and innovate newer and simpler ways of delivering solutions to problems/requirements.
Be the advocate for quality practices and standards in the organization.
Self-Learning & development to keep up to date with fast-changing trends
Qualifications /Requirements:
B.Tech/M.Tech or equivalent in Computer Science backgrounds
Hands on experience in Software Testing Life Cycle both manual & automated
Minimum 3 to 5+ years of experience in writing Automation scripts, and framework development
Hands on experience with test frameworks; Data-driven testing, modularity driven testing, keyword-driven testing, hybrid testing, model-based testing, etc.
Prior experience in building Automation framework for windows and web applications.
Must to have competencies in the use of test tools and test automation, familiar with scripting tools (Java/Java Script, Selenium, Protractor, Cypress, BDD (Cucumber framework))
Familiar with CI/CD principle and tools (like Jenkins), familiar with Test management tools (e.g. JIRA with Xray – Pugin, QC, ..) , Source code management Tools (Git, SVN ….)
