Job Description Summary

The rope access service technician is responsible for carrying out rope access operations using industrial rope access methods and related equipment to access and complete a wide variety of inspection, maintenance and other work tasks while on ropes or in difficult access areas. Technicians must have the ability to perform work that is physically demanding. Responsibilities may also include rescue operations, technical reports and administrative tasks. Work hours, locations, shifts and nature of work assignments vary greatly, and travel may be required. Driving operational excellence, quality and safety is key priority for this role.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Be responsible for the execution of all rope service-related tasks with respect to EHS (Tool Box Talks, incident reporting, etc.), Lockout/Tagout Process Knowledge (LOTO), taking over the Anlagenverantwortung (ANLV) while working on the WEC
  • Ensure compliance of all local regulations and directives for occupational safety and GE's safety and quality guidelines
  • Work independently and in teams on service tasks such as maintenance, repairs, implementation of retrofits and modifications including documentation and reports
  • Participate in pre-project and pre-task planning activities and support the management team on the day-to-day planning tasks
  • Participate in process & quality improvement initiatives and provide feedback on lessons learned
  • Coordination of external and internal service providers and contractors on site if required
  • Coordinate and perform administrative activities as per relevant service processes, including tracking work activities, manage component/parts deliveries to/from your location or on the SOV or ashore
  • Able to coordinate the teamwork on customer location (leading the team, being the center of contact) and to align with marine transfer pickup times
  • Able to react on short notice work condition changes due to changes in the planning or weather related
  • Support O&M engineering in creation of risk assessments, method statements and other relevant documents
  • Support to identify chemicals correctly in alignment with SCM and EHS department. And ensure correct handling and storage procedures

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Professional education/apprenticeship in a technical discipline
  • Valid IRATA or FISAT certificate Level 2 or higher
  • Proven offshore wind experience
  • Significant experience in blade inspections, repairs and application of LEP
  • Distinct quality and safety awareness, technology foresight in identification and solving of failures, deficiencies, and issues.
  • Proven ability to work in a cross-functional and global environment, remote teams, strong team player
  • Physically fit to climb
  • Fluently in English language
  • Ready to travel domestic and international
  • Valid driver license
  • Experience in applying on the job risk assessment
  • Ability and willingness to work on- and offshore in multiple projects with different shift models.
