In this role, you will support the Machined Head Engineering management team to execute business critical New Product Introductions, drive cost competitiveness, and ensure world class subsystem performance of the Haliade-X platform. You will work together with Supply Chain, EHS, Operations relevant stakeholders among others, to deliver the best solution from a whole value chain perspective.

The Haliade-X was the industry’s first 14MW offshore wind turbine to operate, and is the only 12+MW offshore wind turbine platform that has been operating for over two years, specifically at its Rotterdam prototype site.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Your scope will include tasks such as planning, workload control, projects reporting and problem solving
  • You will be involved in the Daily Management System;
  • You will learn how Offshore Next Generation Turbines are developed
  • You will be exposed to the full design of major components within the Offshore Wind Turbine: Electrical auxiliaries, Power Conversion, Grid integration, Cooling systems, Mechanical and Structural subsystems

Qualifications and requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Engineering (Mechanical or Electrical) or related discipline, or close to be finished (or equivalent knowledge or experience)
  • Fluent in English (spoken and written)
  • Familiar with component design, calculations, drawings
  • Experience with electrical CAD tools (NX, AutoCAD or ePLAN) and Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Outlook, Teams…)
  • Length of work:
    • ideally 12 months (but min. 6 months)
    • ideally 40 hours/week (but min. 20 hours/week)
  • Work style: candidate ready to work in presence at the Barcelona office (with min. 3 days in office, rest possible in remote)
  • If contracted in Spain:
    Non-national candidates are responsible to know the minimum documentation requirements to be able to be contracted in country: NIE- Social Security Affiliation Number in Spain (NAF) and Bank Account in Spain. They must be in possession of them at the time of start hiring. GE will not sponsor this requirement.
