Job Description Summary
The Lead Engineer - Program Management NPI Platform (in short: Program Manager) is accountable to deliver NPI (New Product Introduction) programs predictably On-time, On-Budget & To-Spec through the right scoping, prioritization, and optimized resource & budget assignment.The role of Program Manager is part of the EPM (Engineering Program Management) team within the Offshore Wind Engineering organization and integral owner of the NPI programs that he/she leads. The role reports to the EPM Manager and is supported by a team of schedulers within the EPM team.
The Program Manager will be responsible to ensure maximum output of the NPI Engineering teams within given limits of budget and resources, resulting in resourced and baselined schedules in Primavera P6 to execute and control the NPI programs in a clear operating rhythm with the assigned Engineering teams.
The Program Manager will be instrumental in providing weekly progress updates and contributes to input for monthly overall NPI program reviews to support business decision making around bottlenecks within the overall Offshore Wind NPI program portfolio in Engineering.
In addition, the Program Manager contributes to Process- and Tools development for the Engineering Program Management function, leading to overall streamlined and standardized resource management, scheduling, and budgeting processes.

Roles and Responsibilities
In your role as Program Manager, you will be integrally responsible for Quality of the design, Timely execution of the program and own/control the Program budget & resources. In order to meet this objective, you will:
- Breakdown the targets from Product Line for NPI Program execution in logical projects, activities and milestones, as well as defining and managing the budget and resource needs for the programs.
- Work closely with the technical Lead Systems Engineer(s) to establish technical logical relationships to activities within the Program(s).
- Negotiate resource needs for the programs with line managers, including strategic one-year look-ahead.
- Ensure that the engineering team assigned to the Program is focused to clear outcome and ensure the one person- one task principle is applied wherever possible to enhance employee satisfaction and -productivity.
- Optimize resource usage for the NPI programs in collaboration with colleague PM´s and EPM manager, escalate resource conflicts to Leadership with proposed solutions in the appropriate meeting/escalation rhythms.
- Collaborate with colleague PM´s to define inter-program interface milestones, both internally in Engineering as well as cross-functionally.
- Own the program budget and lead the annual budget planning (S2 / Ops planning) for the assigned Programs and ensure continuous budget follow-up throughout the year.
- Gather inputs and contribute to process and tools improvement (Budget, schedule, resource management and functional product requirements flow down) for the EPM function.
- Provide transparent status and reporting to management and the team on weekly basis, own the NPI Program metrics and KPI´s and create visibility of metrics and progress at the workplace. KPI´s and metrics to include both project management KPI´s as well as product KPI´s.
- Define Program de-risking plans for high-risk activities within the program and execute them.
- Prepare and report out Program status, needs, and prioritization / issue resolution proposals for the weekly & monthly reviews
- Serve as Engineering contact for the NPI Program(s) towards other functions & ensure cross-functional program milestones are aligned & included in Primavera P6
- Drive for continuous improvement culture: Share lessons-learned with other PM´s / colleagues, and initiate mitigation actions & problem-solving based on KPI trends.
- Coordinate with Customer Project Requisition Engineers cut-in strategy of customer unit BoM´s, ensure NPI is aligned with Customer project needs. Ensure Features & Accessories (F&A) design readiness for customer projects
- Drive for simplification wherever possible.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical, Civil Engineering, or equivalent
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in project management in an engineering environment
- Working level experience with project management software, e.g. MS Project
- Experience with and track record of implementation of tools and methods in an engineering environment, preferably related to scheduling & resource management
- Working knowledge of Finance, relevant to the Engineering function
- Advanced level of Technical-Business English, both verbally and in writing.
- Good communication, interpersonal, leadership, influencing and presentation skills, including ability to work across cultural boundaries in a global team
- Team player and ability to self-direct

- Demonstrated creativity and problem-solving capabilities
- Diligent record keeping, acute attention to detail, while keeping an eye on the big picture.
- General PC proficiency (Microsoft Office); deep Microsoft Excel proficiency
- Knowledge of business analytics software such as Power BI, Tableau
- Strong technical aptitude, including project management and applicable engineering tools and systems
- Organizational and documentation skills (keep track of multiple issue statuses and remaining actions to drive to closure)
- Comfortable working in a matrix structure.
Desired Characteristics
- Master of Science degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical, Civil Engineering or equivalent
- PMP® Certification or equivalent education in project management (e.g. 1-year master’s in project management)
- Working knowledge of Wind Turbine Mechanical and Electrical Systems; experience in a similar role in the Wind Industry
- Working experience with Primavera P6 as a Project Manager
- Knowledge of GE Vernova / Renewables organization and equipment designs
- Experience with development and delivery of training material
- Experience related to leading change in an Engineering environment.
